I saw the Ventures at Tacoma Park east of Aberdeen, South Dakota in the early 60s. We had a front booth and at break Bogle and Wilson sat with us. Nice fellas. We requested they play “Pipeline” and were told they couldn’t because of some recording rule that the tune belonged to the Chantays.
Still have many albums of theirs (Ventures). They are the best.
