I didn’t post much over the weekend because I was up in Tennessee at my buddy Eric’s annual birthday bash. A bunch of us bloggers and (mostly) ex-bloggers meet up at his house in the Tennessee foothills every year in October to wish him a happy birthday. I used to post a list of everyone there along with links to their blogs but since most of the blogs no longer exist (Damn you Facebook!) I no longer do that. Let’s just say a good time was had by all. There was a lot of drinking and eating involved. On Saturday night there is usually an excellent feast and this past Saturday was no exception. Dawn’s cheese grits really hit the spot!
It’s also my birthday and Elisson gave me a nice bottle of Gigondas and Erica gave me a bottle of Vacqueyras. My three favorite red wines from the southern Rhone Valley, in order, are Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras. Some good drinking ahead.
Sorta figger’d something was up. Glad you went and had some fun with those folks, Denny.
Now, it dawns on me that we’re just eight days away from Yabu, being gone for 2 years. I hope the JuJu Woman is well.
Tempus fugit.
Yabu used to come to Eric’s every year but quit coming a couple of years before he died. He would always bring some rockets to shoot. One of them wound up on the roof of Eric’s house.
Good to hear it. Ya know, we kinda like to keep an eye on you….
Glad to know all’s well, sir. This is the first blog I hit every day, right after local news sites, Day by Day and the motorcycle forums I moderate. Bein’ as I’m still on dial up, even when things get a bit rushed trying to get to work or whatever, I make sure to allow enough time to read GOC.
Since I don’t do FaceSpace and all that other shit, I’m grateful that you’ve maintained the blog all these years. Some of the old sites are sorely missed, but we all go our own directions or the Grim Reaper visits. Thanks more helpin’ me start my days with a bit of humor, some intellectual stimulation and Boobage.
