Ron’s stepping in it this week by wring sumpin’ about abortion.
Wanted to whip up a rant on college education today but went lookin for somethin in the archives and found one I did on abortion some time back, so I stole it and updated it. Might do the one on 4-yr degrees versus trade school later this week. Then again . . . might not.
Funny, ain’t it, how the Leftistes protested DJT’s SCotUS nominee long before he was identified. One group printed up posters to have ready for the nonce but neglected to even put a name on ‘em. Give people like that a nice-warm, tasty, loaded chicken sandwich and they’ll reject it if they think it came from Chick-fil-A.
Just don’t get their mindset . . . what their goals are . . . what kind of world they want, and who the hell they think is gonna pay for it. Tough for me, since my views on most major issues are quite conservative, often complex, and sometimes at odds even with most far-right-wingers in terms of implementation.
For example, my belief in the death penalty as a deterrent is resolute, regardless of surveys or skewed government figures or psychobabble from bleeding hearts, of ANY stripe. As for implementation, though, I believe that the manner of execution should be left up to those who have suffered great loss by the crime for which death is the penalty.
If the widow and/or children or mother or other surviving close relative of a murder victim wants to see the murderer put to death by “cruel or unusual” means, that’s fine with me. In fact, I’d like to see the manner of death as closely as possible mimic the manner of his victim’(s’) death(s).
Once a rapist is convicted, the first action taken by society should be to castrate him. After that, his victims should have a say in the manner, place, and duration of his imprisonment (within reason, of course). Again, I am irreversibly convinced that street awareness of castration as the automatic minimum penalty for rape would significantly lower the incidence of the crime.
Those who sexually molest children should be treated the same as rapists, and drug pushers/smugglers should be treated the same as murderers, since their actions contribute to the destruction of many people’s lives. In fact, I’d like to see some REALLY cruel and unusual punishment for identity/ripoff thieves.
Government officials convicted of insider trading, influence peddling, graft, dishonesty, and a host of other similar crimes should be publicly humiliated, to include such archaic punishments as whipping, caning, pillorying, and banishment.
So . . . my views are generally pretty far right, but somewhat complex at times, for example, abortion.
Fundamentally, I really don’t believe that I have any authority to determine or restrict or alter what other adults do with or to each other in private. Their sexual habits are immaterial to me, none of my business, until they decide to make their habits my business by trying to control MY private activities through intimidation, politics, innuendo, political correctness, or any other means.
Basically, I feel the same about abortion. It’s wrong in most cases except where the life of the mother is endangered by carrying a foetus to full term. Plenty of methods for preventing pregnancy are available, abstinence being perhaps the best of all. And for those women who are certain they will always want sex but never want children, the surgery is not particularly dangerous, especially for their male partners.
Still, the other side of the coin is the quality of life some children would have if NOT miscarried or aborted by parents who have neither the wherewithal nor the inclination to properly provide for and rear them. A life of illness and hunger and pain and deprivation awaits many unfortunates whom the right-to-lifers would salvage.
I don’t have an easy answer to that unanswerable question, and I refuse to argue with those who are convinced that their judgment on the issue is the only proper one, regardless of their religion, their ethics, their morals, or their politics.
What I most dislike about the abortion issue is that too many people focus on that alone as the criterion for choosing a political candidate to vote for. To me that’s as inane as rejecting a great pitcher or quarterback because he owns guns or eats escargot or likes to crochet.
Trump has several onerous traits and shortcomings which deserve the concern and criticism of voters, but to castigate and revoke him on one single issue, such as his views on abortion, is as absurd as denying Mitt Romney over the halfrican because he’s a Mormon, or Mike Huckabee because he has a funny name.
I’d be willing to bet that some very able and qualified people would refuse to run for high office simply because of the rancor and spite that the issue would generate in the campaign. Sooner or later it will come up, and once a solid position is established, all those votes on the other side are instantly lost, regardless of the time and money spend on media propaganda.
It’s like when I was a kid and Adlai Stevenson was running for President. All the adult women in my family (my grandmother, my mother, and several aunts and cousins) were all agreed that he would make a rotten president because he was divorced, and a man who can’t manage his own family certainly can’t be trusted to run the whole country. Those same women voted against Kennedy simply because he was Catholic.
Hell, I would have voted against Kennedy because of his connection to his father and all that ill-gotten wealth before considering him un-American because of his religion. Besides, he never really wanted the job and ran for it only because his older brother got himself killed and old Joe wanted something to brag about.
Abortion to me is a very complex issue. If human life begins at the moment of conception, or fertilization of the ovum, then many popular birth-control methods are de facto abortions since they don’t prevent fertilization but confuse the uterus so that the zygote cannot implant on the wall and is flushed out with the menstrual flow.
What’s ironic about it to me is that the Caucasian segment of US population is reducing its natality (or fecundity, if you prefer) to the point of non-sustainability while black, Asian, and Latino segments are reproducing in abundance, both by birth rates and immigration. Our national immigration policy seems to be that we have enough Bible-totin, gun-lovin white folks with skills and assets and need more Qur’an-totin, bomb-lovin brown folks who can drive taxis, operate leaf blowers, and carry protest signs . . . AND vote Democrat.
My guess is that by the turn of the next century, abortion will be treated more like a prescribed, maybe even mandatory, ritual than a controversial slap in the face of God. And all the white folks who are against it today will be long gone anyhow, so what difference, at that point, will it make?
Complex, aint’ it. So before you think about getting me into a discussion on abortion, don’t.
And I STILL don’t get what exactly the “resistance” wants, what they intend to accomplish by fighting DJT on every decision he makes, every action he takes, every custom he breaks. What exactly is WRONG with a booming economy, historically low unemployment, income tax reform, border security, and bringing Li’l Kim to the negotiating table?
Good Grief! If they’d been at the Wedding at Cana when Jesus turned the water into wine, they’d have griped about it: “Hey, this is Merlot. We wanted Chablis!”
I like the idea of a “breeder’s permit” (except we will need a nicer name for it).
Have children if you wish, ’cause it is a human right or some such. But unless you have a breeder’s permit first, then there will not be any public money for the infant. No medical benefits, no education expenses, no welfare.
Once upon a time, a marriage ceremony was a form of breeding permit, but no longer.
Remember, the potential breeder should still have ready availability to good contraception; and if they become pregnant, they take the responsibility. ( I am sure that is how it was in great grandma’s day)
Breeding is like guns. They’ll never try to take them away from us. That’s too outrageous.
I have maintained over the last few years that if a woman goes on welfare she be sterilized. If she can’t afford to have children there is no reason for us to pay for them. This also goes for the sperm donor. If he can’t afford to support the children he helped create he should be sterilized as well. Tubal ligations and vasectomies are cheaper than welfare.
Hmmm, I always thought tax-exempt churches were suppossed to help with knocked-up bitches.
Not SNAP, WIC, NSLP, SBP, SMP, SFSP, and TANF.
WTF is the tithe for?
Jeeze, Ron, your eloquence is only exceeded by your ability to marshal facts and opinions in a manner lots of paid pundits can only dream of achievin’. I want to thank you for presentin’ thoughts that only muddle around half-formed in the cesspool that is my mind, and always make me think “I wish I’d said that” when Denny’s nice enough to grace his pages with your posts.
Both of you are appreciated more than you know.
Amen. Ditto that.
Merci, mes amis.
Ron you outdid yourself on this one I only wish you could read it aloud on the house floor. While abortion is hideous where would America be without it? For one thing we’d have like 17 million more black gimmie gimmie takers on the White working stiff nipple.
Abortion needs to be criminalized for Caucasians and if a parasite recipient wants to eat they get sterilized. Our subculture junk people squirt out kids for monetary purposes clearly they can’t feed’em or raise them to become upstanding productive citizens Castration physical or chemical is the remedy to ward off this (orchestrated) White Genocide. There’s no abortion if there’s no pregnancy in the first place Make a White baby.
Well said !!!
Without a doubt, the best argument for abortion: https://youtu.be/0vDQCv0yYaQ
As I’ve become older, I’ve become partial to the idea of natural causes as the appropriate death for killers and child molesters. The only thing I struggle with, is should they be fed to a lion, hyena, feral pig, or a pack of pitbulls?
For rapists, I’m ok with chemical castration, just hand a pound of tanerite on their pecker and let their victims shoot to detonate it. Bad aim allowed.
As for the run of the mill scum, Do away with probation, it is an expensive joke. Instead, horse whip the felon after the first offense. Second time, castration. It might be a problem of high testosterone levels, it might be too much trying to prove how manly he is. Besides, for the wimin he is trying to impress, nothing like a limp noodle to make the girls go away laughing. It also drastically reduces the possibility of having mouths to feed and no father after he is shot dead following a third felony conviction.
For female criminals, step two would be to wind a dog anchor into their cervix, them yank the babymaker clean out. Also eliminates the need to house a dozen welfare rats while momma is serving her year after conviction number one zillion.
Brutal!
But I like it.
