What I get a kick out of are the tweets from Dimocrats like Occasional-Cortex who claimed that a gummint employee told her he was suffering by losing a paycheck but not to give in. This was a week before any gummint employee had missed a paycheck.
Another Dimocrat congresscritter claimed he was giving out sandwiches at a food bank and a starving gummint worker told him not to give in.

I’m one of those hardcores that hated McAmnesty McCain for wanting amnesty, so I can’t get behind any similar thing from Trump, even if it DOES fund the border. (Provided of course that the Donks would agree to anything, looking toward 2020 as he pointed out. That alone defies imagination.)
We could tax all wages being sent outside our borders, and pay for that wall and its permanent maintenance within just a few years.
Then encourage those people to STAY here and join the rest of us shlubs paying their bills.

If what I heard is not mistaken. the furloughed employees affected by the partial shutdown have only missed one pay check and that was this past Friday.
There is so much hype about the shutdown that is untrue and then there is the unyielding democrats who are determined to get their way no matter what. The positions of Trump and Blinky and Schmucky are all quite well known.
My solution is that Trump declare an emergency and allocate the funds from our national defense budget and then turn to the dems and say “Your move!”
I’d like to see that too, but the Dims would immediately find some judge in Hawaii who would issue a restraining order. I know someone in the Army who is stationed in El Paso and he told me sections of the wall are being built. They’re replacing fencing with a real wall.
