An Open Letter to Governor Gavin Newsom 5/20/19:

Governor Newsom,

The boxes are filled. The bags are packed. The hearts are breaking.
My family is about to be divided, separated, perhaps forever. I wish you cared.

Our wonderful daughter, along with her husband and their two young children has given up on life in California. The only place they’ve ever called home has become intolerable for them. They’ve found a new home in a southern state, far away from here, in the real America.

I’ve heard the story innumerable times- people leaving, or wanting to leave, what was once the paradise of the West Coast. Not so long ago, kids could walk down to the corner store, or to school, without their parents worrying about their safe return. No more.
You once could visit a neighborhood park, and not fear for your life. No more.
Walking across the street did not require careful examination of the pavement to avoid feces or used hypodermic needles. Now it does.

Illnesses are again being seen in this state that had been rare or non-existent until recently. Typhus, Tuberculosis, Mumps, Measles, Hepatitis A, B, and C are all here again. A worker on the upper floors at L.A. City Hall recently came down with typhus, spread by rats living in the disgusting conditions around the Civic Center.

But you’re concerned that I might ask for a plastic straw.

Your priorities for managing this state are crystal clear, and the middle class is nowhere near the top of the list. I learned in Civics class years ago that the primary job of government is to keep the people safe. What happened? When did our safety and well-being fall off the radar? Not too long ago, my daughter had her new vehicle stolen from her driveway, in the short time it took her to walk the kids to school. Someone was watching, waiting for them to leave. It gives me chills just thinking about it.

You release violent criminals back onto our streets to terrorize our communities, you proudly remove the death-penalty as an option, sending a friendly message to the worst of the worst, and you handcuff our law-enforcement officers, challenging their every move. Officers now must take an extra moment, perhaps just a second, questioning their training and best judgment, before using any amount of force to apprehend a violent criminal. When this results in another dead cop, and it will, the blood will be on your hands, sir.

A few weeks ago, we watched on television as a violent felon led police on a three-hour pursuit, destroying property and narrowly missing pedestrians and other vehicles. We saw him brutally beat his female passenger while driving close to 100 mph. Then last week, a murder suspect shot at police out the window of the car he was being pursued in. It’s a miracle nobody was killed. Turns out, both suspects were free on “early release” through AB-109, that you and other politicians (who all live behind walls, with armed security) forced upon us in the name of compassion. Where’s your compassion for law-abiding citizens, Mr. Governor?

And don’t get me started on taxes and regulations. The amount of money taken from us by this state is criminal. Just living here is expensive enough, but imagine trying to run a business and stay afloat. We have the highest gas prices/taxes in the country, and still our roads are a mess. I recently hit a pothole and the damage to my car was over $1000. We pay you enormous sums to manage the state’s affairs, yet people by the thousands sleep on our streets at night. Homeless encampments are everywhere, in neighborhoods we never imagined they’d be. And still, you want more. There’s a move now to weaken Prop. 13. No doubt it will pass. And I just read that you want to tax online sales now, too. Along with proposals to tax water, telephones, dairy products, fertilizers, health care, and more. But taxing those things will not affect the “superich 1%”. They’re just more hits on the middle class. You Sacramento politicians have an insatiable addiction to other people’s money. But many citizens have had enough and are walking away.

Which brings me back to my family.

They’re closing their business here. You’ll get no more of their hard-earned money. They’ve purchased a home in their new state, big enough for the four of them and a dog or two. Maybe even a horse. The kids will get a great education. They’ll be able to leave a window open at night, knowing that the criminals are the ones who are afraid- afraid of the police, afraid of the courts, and afraid of the citizens who exercise their right to defend themselves. Oh, and gas there is about $2 a gallon.

Somehow, they’ll have to survive without a Fantasy Train to nowhere, but I’m sure they’ll find a way to get by.

Meanwhile, your tax base shrinks and Atlas shrugs. Soon the only people left here will be the very rich and the very poor. It’s almost as if you planned it that way.

And now, my family is broken. As are countless others. No more school plays, no more little league games. No more weekend breakfasts at IHOP or Thanksgiving dinners. I’ll happily burn a ton of fossil fuel to go visit them at their new home as often as I can. But, I won’t be there as an instant babysitter when needed on short notice, and I’ll actually notice their growth from visit to visit. I’ll pray every night for their safety and happiness in the years to come. And I’ll cry that I can’t hold them tight. I’m angry as hell, and I miss them desperately already.

But they’ll get no going away card from you and no apologies. You simply don’t care.

My sister moved to California in 1967. She and her husband live there until the early Aughts when she retired. They sold their house and moved to South Carolina. They were happy as hell to leave the state. They couldn’t get out fast enough! I remember they had a hard time finding U-Haul trucks. There were far more leaving California than moving into the state.

Back in the 60’s and 70’s, California’s freeway system was the best in the country. No more. Governor Moonbeam decided to waste money on a high speed train to nowhere, that will never get finished than invest in maintaining the roads. Seriously, why would anyone want to take a three hour ride on a train when one could make the same trip on a plane in an hour? I guess a clueless liberal would but a sane intelligent person? And if I were building a high speed rail line, I would be more apt to follow Highway 101, than go out into the Central Valley and follow Highway 99.

So California, what are you getting for you high gas taxes?

I really feel for my friend Pres. He would love to leave the state where he has lived since getting out of the Navy in the early 70’s. He hates what California has become. Unfortunately, his daughters and grandchildren live there and he doesn’t want to leave them. That’s what makes this letter to Gavin so sad. This poor parent is losing one of her children because California has turned into a one party state that is driving the middle class out.

Observe California America. This is the future of the country if the Dimocrats regain control, and they will. Massive voter fraud will cause more and more Republicans to lose and the Republican Party is too spineless to stop it. With the Mueller witch hunt the Dimocrats and the politicized FBI, DOJ, and CIA almost pulled off a coup.

Trump is just a speed bump in the road on the way to the socialist utopia we see in California. I give us twenty to thirty years until we devolve into a socialist dictatorship.

Fortunately, I’ll be dead by than and I won’t see the demise of this once great nation.

Even before DJT took office, it began – to paraphrase John 1:1, “In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was “Impeach.”

Gotta wonder about that – how does it work, anyway . . . a Republican PotUS being impeached for crimes committed by the Democrats who are investigating him?

What disgusts me about it is that they don’t want to get rid of him because of anything he’s done officially while in office; they’re just miffed because they didn’t get their way over 2 years ago. It’s just a sustained tantrum.

Liz Warren doesn’t really believe that FoxNews is a “hate-for-profit racket” or that it gives a platform for “racists and conspiracists” to spew that hatred. She’s merely pandering to the ignorant hard-left base which DOES believe that. She has to make statements like that to attract money and attention.

Ditto for almost all the rest of them. Biden doesn’t believe most of what he comes up with . . . and if you just wait a while, he’ll reverse himself on issues anyway. He’s merely looking for donor money and voter interest.

And the hypocrisy is strong in Harris, who doesn’t know WHAT she believes in. She’s torn between joining Alyssa Milano’s sex strike or continuing her drive to become the Dem potus candidate. Given her past history of getting herself elected, she can hardly do both.

Booker, of course, is just derping every time he opens his mouth, much like O’Rourke. And I’m gonna go with Trump on Bernie – he’s just nuts.

Of course AOC is the exception in all this – she’s just ignorant enough to actually believe the unsupportable dreccchh she spews constantly. What I’d like to see someone do is ask AOC how to spell “Mississippi” and specify “not the state, but the river.”

As for Tlaib and Omar, all I can offer are a 4-letter imperative verb and a 2nd-person pronoun. Makes no difference if that pronoun is singular or plural.

Then there’s Hillary, the cockroach in the kitchen we just can’t get rid of, constantly inserting herself into the dialogue as if she’s actually relevant to ANYthing any more. She’s like a Mafia capo in deep lockup, still pretending to give orders to her crew. Just an inerasable skidmark on Uncle Sam’s shorts.

Y’know . . . what I’d REALLY like to see is someone identify one truly useful accomplishment Joe Biden has contributed to America in his 50 years in public office. His big plan now is to raise taxes to provide free stuff for illegals. If the economy stumbles next year ‘cause of this tariff hoohah, he’ll prob’ly wind up bein 46.

Nearly all the Dem potus wannabes have leapt on the abortion-rights bandwagon after Alabama governor Ivey signed a law making virtually any abortion illegal in the state. For some odd reason they got into their heads the misguided and untrue belief that a woman’s right to abort her child whenever she likes is protected by the Constitution.

Well, that document says nothing specific about . . . or even close to . . . abortion. It DOES, however, very clearly declare the right to own and carry firearms an essential and inviolable one, but they don’t wanna hear that ‘cause it doesn’t fit their take-complete-control agenda.

On second thought, what I think I’d REALLY, REALLY like to see is for all the gods who ever were to damn HRC and BHO for all eternity.

Bernie and most of the other Dem 2020 candidates are for giving voting rights back to criminals in jail or prison. Yeah, makes a lotta sense, don’t it . . . rapists, arsonists, murderers, embezzlers, child molesters, drug dealers – all locked up away from society because they made bad decisions in their lives. So naturally it makes sense to allow them to vote and decide who’ll run things.

I’m weary of career politicians who speak the language of Washington so glibly and fluently and know every dialect of governmentese but can’t speak reality in everyday English because their hypocrite accent makes it so damned hard to follow.

And polls . . . polls are designed for one purpose only – to alter people’s thinking or believing that others might know something they don’t. Polls are NOT in any way a true reflection of majority attitudes, opinions, political preferences, or voting intentions.

Like . . . who cares if women are murdering babies right up to the moment of birth. Who cares if ignorant legislators can’t even explain what a semi-automatic weapon IS while attacking the second amendment. Who cares if illegal immigrants cost hundreds of times more than what a wall to keep them out would cost . . . .

I mean, good grief – Donald Trump is unpresidential, uncooperative, non-traditional, and rude. Who cares if he’s fixed the economy. Who cares if he got Li’l Kim to shut up, at least for a li’l while. Who cares if unemployment is lower than it’s ever been, ‘specially for women and minorities.

So, they’re right, I guess. The thing to do is “Peach fo’ty fah.”

Far left Dimocrats in Congress (and RINO Amash) are pushing for the impeachment of Trump. There will be a meeting of the Dimocrat caucus Wednesday morning where they will be pushing Speaker Blinky towards impeachment. Will the Dimocrats cross this Rubicon and start impeachment proceedings?

Oh please, please make this happen. The Dimocrat controlled House is already a circus with Jerry the Hut, Elijah Bullfrog Cummings, and Adam Shitt running amok. All we need now is impeachment proceedings to convince the American people they made a big mistake in voting for Dimocrats in the last election.

This is no surprise. Conservatives warned the American people this would happen but they were once again hoodwinked by “moderate” Dimocrats who said they wouldn’t vote for Blinky for Speaker. It wouldn’t matter! Voting for Dimocrats was voting for Blinky as Speaker, Mad Maxipad as chairman of the House Finance Committee, Bullfrog as chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Jerry the Hut as chairman of the House Judicial Committee, and Adam Shitt as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Voting for Dimocrats put the crazies in charge.

Americans should have learned from the last time they put Dimocrats in charge when we got Obumercare. That time Dimocrats ran to the right of a bunch of Republicans when the Republicans spent like Dimocrats and the Dimocrats promised fiscal responsibility. That will be the day. They passed a pay as you go bill and immediately ignored it.

After Obungler was elected, they rammed through Obummercare and a bogus stimulus plan for shovel ready infrastructure projects. Unfortunately, there weren’t any shovel ready projects and the money was wasted. Instead we got failed green energy companies like Solyndra. AOC and her merry band of Green New Deal acolytes want to give us more of the same.

Blinky may have lost control of her caucus to the likes of rocket scientist AOC who prolly think the Amish support impeachment. (Insert your own AOC joke here.)

The Dimocrats refuse to accept the results of the 2016 election and have been throwing a temper tantrum ever since. The Mueller probe turned up nothing so now they’re trying to get Trump on obstruction of justice. I guess that’s what they’ll try to hang their impeachment hopes on. Good luck with that. There was no collusion and there was no obstruction.

So for the next year, the American people will see the Dimocrat accomplish nothing but meddlesome hearings and an impeachment trial that may impeach Trump but will cost them the House in 2020 and will prolly get Trump elected in a landslide.

I just can’t get enough of that global warming news. Yosemite looks just like a snow globe.

At a time when Yosemite National Park is typically preparing for the summer season, the mountains and granite monoliths surrounding the majestic valley are coated in fresh white powder. If you were standing atop Half Dome today, you might feel as if you were in the center of a snow globe.

The winter-like conditions arrived when a moisture-rich storm swept the Sierra on Wednesday through early Friday morning, blasting higher elevations with powder. There’s more snow expected Saturday through Monday.

Wait a minute! Snow on Memorial Day? How can that be? I thought snowfalls were a thing of the past.

But wait! The global warming news gets even better.

Snow began falling at Denver International Airport early Monday afternoon, hours earlier than forecasters had predicted, forcing meteorologists to increase their projections for snowfall in the Mile High City.

“Right now there is currently a snow shower at Denver International Airport,” said Natalie Sullivan, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder. She said a band of snow arrived at DIA much earlier than originally expected.

“We’re looking at the potential of 1 to 2 inches of snow in Denver now,” Sullivan said. The NWS had predicted as recently as Monday morning that it wouldn’t start snowing in Denver until 1 a.m. Tuesday.

And what about the mountains?

Heavy wet snow is forecast for the foothills and mountains Monday. A winter storm warning and a snow advisory is in place for the foothills and mountains until midnight Tuesday, according to the NWS.

The mountains will get between 8 inches and 18 inches of snow, Sullivan said. The foothills west of Denver could get between 5 inches and a foot of snow. Castle Rock could get up to 6 inches of snow.

“It will be getting worse,” Sullivan said of driving conditions. Icy and snowpacked conditions are expected in the mountains.

It’s almost Memorial Day. This shouldn’t be happening. Somehow the members of the Church of AGW will find some way to blame this on global warming. Remember, they’ve moved the goal posts since we’ve passed the ten years that Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW gave us, now rocket scientist AOC has given us twelve years.

But wait! There’s more.

It is the middle of May and things are looking more like winter than spring. Winter apparently is not finished with parts of the Northeast, nor the West or Europe. In many places around the northern hemisphere its the latest start of spring on record. Cold air coming in from Canada is likely to cause a mix of snow and rain in higher elevations of New Hampshire, Vermont and much of northern Maine by the 14th of May, CNN meteorologist Gene Norman said. That means we will have have had 9 months of winter weather in some parts of the United States as well as in Europe and Russia. (See below.)

On the 15th of May we read a potent, winter-like storm is poised to slam into the western USA, bringing several feet of snow to the Sierra and soaking rain to coastal and valley areas. A dangerous stretch of severe weather is forecast to wallop 18 states in the central USA over the next several days and into next week. In the Sierra, “total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches, with localized amounts up to 35 inches, are expected,” the National Weather Service in Sacramento said. Also on the 15th a foot of snow for New Hampshire and heavy snowfall and cold in Corsica, Bosnia and Croatia. Portions of Washington and Oregon saw the latest spring start on record, while parts of Kansas and Oklahoma saw the latest arrival of spring in 38 years, says weather.com.

But, as one of my commenters said, The AGW crowd will say that this was the warmest May on record.

The problem is its not getting warmer—its getting colder and that is already affecting the agricultural sector. It is not just cooling temperatures, we also have record breaking precipitation that is flooding huge areas of the United States farm belt. Its the cold and wet weather combined that is threatening us, not in some far off future but this year. Bad weather in the American breadbasket portend rising food prices and less food to export to the hungry corners of the world.

The planet is not warming up it’s cooling down.

Did you know that France just experienced its lowest May temperature in two centuries?

Temperatures have collapsed over the whole of France following the influx of arctic air and, on May 6th, set cold records at numerous locations. In Romorantin, 85 meters above sea level in the Loire, a famous producer of grapes for white wine, the temperature collapsed to a dangerous (geoengeeringfor vines) of -3.8 ° C.

I wrote about that last week.

A significant Arctic blast is affecting almost entire Europe and parts of northern Africa. Some regions are dealing with heavy snow, below-freezing temperatures and late-season frost. Temperatures plunged close to and below zero in many places, with many record low temperatures reported. Another blast of cold expected from May 11 to 18.

Temperatures plunged as far south as southern Italy. Global warming is on hold for the rest of our lifetimes and even those of our children. No telling how long the deep freeze will last but we do know that the Grand Solar Minimum is just starting. We can expect climate chaos but not warming.

But I thought the “science was settled”.

Remember, AGW is a religion and the members of that cult are fanatics. They could be huddled in parkas on the 4th of July in Washington DC and claim that the cold was caused by global warming.

Back in the 70’s we were supposed to be worried about global cooling. Newsweek had a cover story on it. Now, in spite of all these cold temperatures in the Spring we’re supposed to think the planet is warming when, in fact, it is cooling and it is because of that big yellow ball in the sky. That is what causes the climate to change not coal fired plants and not SUVs.
