Lots of assholes on parade at the reparations hearings. Here’s the deal. We’ve paid reparations many times over in welfare, food stamps, and public housing. And just look at how much we’re wasted on public housing by having to tear down the projects that the Africans destroyed. Then there is affirmative action. More reparations. Now there is Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) which is nothing more than the rebranding of affirmative action.
But I have to give the award to AOC for her concentration camp comments this week. As one of my commenters said, “The only “concentration camps” in history that people will climb a fence to get into.”
The only thing AOC might be worth is ‘Saturday Boobage.’ But they probably sag ….. just like her IQ. And it would be an insult to ‘Saturday Boobage.’
And the only concentration camps in history where the inmates can ask to be returned home and the guards will be happy to comply.
I have no problem with “paying reparations for slavery” so long as it is done accurately; since the slave states were Confederate states and the U.S. fought a war to end slavery, let reparations be paid in Confederate currency.
I’ll cheerfully pay them reparations, as soon as they pay us the costs of the Civil War. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
Reparations we’re paid in blood between 1861 and 1865.
But really, how will they divide it up? Will it come out of the general fund? Then won’t black people pay reparations to themselves? Will all white people have a higher tax? What about the white people who came to the US after 1865? Will they have to pay? Will all black people receive it? Why would someone receive it or pay it if they came to the US after 1865?
Will they only have decendants of slave owners pay it only to decendants of slaves?
Ultimately isn’t this the same as punishment for a crime committed by your great grandfather? That’s a violation of my Constitutional rights.
