One of the things this pandemic has shown us is just how dictatorial some of our elected officials, mostly Dimocrats, can be. Governor half Whitmer of Michigan is a prime example of that. Another example is this week’s AOTW, Judge Lina Hidalgo of Harris County Texas. She has ruled that everyone over 10 years old has to wear a mask or be fined $1000.
“This is not a police state,” she said. “But we needed to make clear it’s not a recommendation, it’s something we have to do for sake of our safety, our lives and our economy.”
It may not be a police state but it sure sounds like it in Harris County Texas.

goddam sounds like a police state action when choice has no provision. sounds like another SQUAD MORON who got a spoonful of influence who is now trying to morph her position into actual power. Pray she never achieves prominence.
Maybe she will take the same thought and apply it to banning guns. You know, for our own safety.

They are already suing her on this issue. Wikipedia has her listed as a county judge in a “non-judicial”position. You may be correct, she may not have the authority to issue this requirement. Usually a mayor or a governor has the authority through a law or ordinance. But then she is a devout leftist and feels she can do anything “for your own safety”.
Was the same way in suburbs of DC. Northern VA was bad then but a nightmare now. We left in 1981 and have NO regrets. Where we live now is about as far as anyone can be from any metro area in the USA! Wouldn’t go back into that world for love nor money.

Ain’t that the truth? If I’d been given the choice of Jim Webb as the Dem nominee or Mittens in 2012 it would’ve been hard not to vote for Webb as the lesser of two evils.
At this point, I’m not sure I could find a reason to vote for any Dem, even for dog catcher if they were runnin’ against Cruella DeVille.
The only exception might be Willie Brown, of Commiefornia fame. I might not like his politics, but he was a real, old-time politician. No changin’ sides or wafflin’ for him. Once he was bought, he stayed bought. His version of ethics is admirable, compared to the idiots we’ve got runnin’ these days.
