From the police state of Michigan comes this guest post from quiller who is living under the iron thumb of Frau Whitmer.
OVERKILL IS KILLING US
by quiller
Leave it to a brain-dead publicity-crazy Democrat to find a way to send
us home and then deny us things to do once we get there.
That’s Michigan’s governor, the freedom-challenged Gretchen Whitmer,
threatening $1,000 fines to any business owner daring to violate an
increasingly bizarre list of things we cannot do in free America.
State attorney general Dana Nessel wants employees of “nonessential”
businesses to call the cops on their bosses, if they even SUSPECT a
violation. 911 had ENOUGH problems with normal run-of-the-mill stuff.
People missing pizza items. Donald Trump poisoning their dog. The usual.
Anyone who golfs? Fuhgeddaboudit. All that open air is hazardous to our
collective health. One sneeze at the ninth hole and every duffer chasing
waitresses at the clubhouse bar will instantly contract the disease and
die before making it to their car after the bar closes. (The serious
golfers aren’t crazy about it either.)
Selling furniture? Can’t sell it, Madame No assures us. And don’t even
think of going into a restaurant or a bar if the kitchen doesn’t have
enough clearance room for the staff. (This shut down a place in my town
with a busy drive-through setup, ensuring no income).
Ya say ya wanna lay down carpet or tile or other flooring, maybe paint a
room or three, with all that time off? Stay out of the home improvement
places. Or the places selling plants. I repeat — plants.
Detroit News columnist Ingrid Jacques says greenhouses and gardening
centers are a $580 million to $700 million business with 9,000 employees.
Governor Halfbaked thinks you’re a risk just going to buy that pot of
poseys, much less get out on your yard to stuff it into a hole. This
insane desire to beautify your property shall not be tolerated, comrade!
It is obviously a sign you intend to infect every living creature for
ten blocks in all directions. Confess now and avoid the rush! (As for
the other kind of potted plant, couch potatoes can still buy medicinal
marijuana, and in some cases now recreational as well. Not that you’d be
out mowing lawns after a few blunts of Mango Tango Jockawocka.) Speaking
of….
If you’re elderly and hired people to mow your lawn? Whitmer has closed
lawn services as well. That’s a windfall in fines awaiting: Democrats
don’t care WHY you violated their maximum-grass-height rules, it’s just
a new revenue-enhancer possibly replacing speed traps for cars no longer
out driving around. Watch some Democrat jackass want to fine kids who
mow lawns also.
Ingrid Jacques again:
“Three weeks into the first stay-home order, however, Whitmer has had
time to hear feedback and make adjustments. Even the federal
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency guidelines, on which
the governor modeled her initial order, have changed and broadened to
include a wider swath of “essential” workers.
“Yet Whitmer hasn’t budged. She would rather be obeyed than compromise.
“Jordan Ballor, a senior research fellow at the Acton Institute,
recently wrote about how Whitmer should open Michigan golf courses as
other states like Ohio have done, while adhering to safety precautions.
As he noted, “While it cannot be argued that recreational activities
such as golf are ‘critical infrastructure,’ a uniform approach to all
non-essential services risks backlash and creates unnecessary harms,
economic and otherwise.”
Full story here.
The newest stay-home extension ends April 30. I’m already hearing of
plans for (and please excuse the direct quote) a May 1 Fuck Whitmer Day.
Maybe a few thousand voters between Mother Fungus and the exit might get
her attention.
Events here have piled up faster than I could keep count.
The usual cadre of Democrat fabulists now offers us this one. USA Today claims the following. See if you can spot the inconsistency!
The state’s FAQ on the order dispels the claim, stating “while the order places certain limits on how goods are sold, it does not ban Michiganders from buying any item, including flags.” A representative from the state’s press office also told USA TODAY that Whitmer is not banning the sale of US flags.
The order also notes large stores must close off areas of stores meant for carpeting, flooring, furniture, gardening and paint. The limits only apply to in-person sales and do not apply to stores with less than 50,000 square feet.

The FAQ referred to below is here: https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_98455-525278–,00.html
Why should we believe Gretchen Whitmer’s press office? (Paraphrasing Donald Trump at a press conference.) Why should we not believe she is angling for Biden’s VP when he’d be beyond crazy to have her, knowing how much he needs Michigan? What has Gretchen Whitmer done to dispel that feeling she’s only using the state office as a stopover?
“Hi, I’m Gretchen. And I ruined my state economy so a man who can’t remember bupkis can be someone else’s puppet. Name MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!”
They’re sending out cops to harass BOATERS, now. And ripping down basketball hoops in Da Hood, to keep kids from enjoying what little they do have after City Hall gets their raises. Petitions are being passed to get this commie trash out of Lansing — but not before she does her damage. The courts will drag this out past November. Recall will not be swift.
She’s extended the house arrests until April 30. By then all the older folks staffing the polls will either be barricaded at home, or too sick to service democracy. Election workers are desperately needed—everywhere.
More.
For comparison between our dictator and, say, an alleged Republican….
Down in Ohio, squishy RINO Gov. Mike DeWine lets democracy die in broad daylight by saying the courts will NOT be involved, just the autocratic state.
COLUMBUS — The controversial decision last week by the Hobby Lobby craft-store chain to deem itself an essential business and reopen to customers during Ohio’s coronavirus shutdown demonstrated how the state’s stay-at-home order has been subject to interpretation.
While Attorney General Dave Yost stepped in swiftly with a cease-and-desist letter telling Hobby Lobby to again close its doors, Gov. Mike DeWine has created a panel to resolve disputes that emerge when it comes to enforcement of his order against businesses.
The panel’s decision will be final. There would be no court appeals.

DeWine also neglects to mention that politicians since historical times have learned that the best way to stall something is to create a committee. If he is only talking tough while simultaneously just dragging it out by forming a committee until the Kung Flu does subside, then he’s smarter than he’s sounded in years.
And yet Gretchen Whitmer is doing the same. Spreading the blame.
So are they trying to ease out of that corner they painted themselves into? Let it die out on its own and breathe a sigh of relief that they didn’t have to make any real decisions without a bunch to blame it on? I say that’s Mike DeWine and Gretchen Whitmer both, to the soles of their overly-expensive shoes.
As for public reaction?
This Toledo, Ohio newspaper also offers us proof that those Reds in East Berlin didn’t have to go far to find snitches for the STASI. The Glass City rats are swarming against anyone with subversive ideas of freedom like Hobby Lobby. We may not yet be able to buy seeds or plants…but we can buy knitting needles and yarn. Knit something to keep our Gretchen warm in her sudden and impending retirement.

What’s ironic is that the States that did not shut down, such as Iowa and others, do not have to worry about starting back up. They have already weathered the worst and have made it through. No worry about more cases once the restrictions are lifted. Maybe they were the smart ones and all the other states just another group of stupids.
What is she going to do when tax revenues come in much lower than expected? State and local governments are hurting for taxes. They need businesses to start back up. Is she going to lay off workers? We’ll see. I am glad I live in Missouri. This has turned into nothing but politics.
Lay off workers? Lay off State workers? LAY OFF STATE WORKERS?! What’s wrong with you, boy? Don’t you realize that State workers are special? So what if tax revenues drop? She’ll just have to impose additional fees for all that CO2 that’s bein’ trapped in your house and will be released when the quarantine is lifted and climate change becomes universally fatal.
Four Michigan residents — three from Oakland County and one from Roscommon County — have filed a federal lawsuit against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over the impact of her executive orders on business, the use of privately owned property as well as the ability to associate with family and friends.
The lawsuit filed Tuesday in United States Eastern District Court doesn’t question the “legitimate public purpose” of the order or Whitmer’s authority to issue it, but challenges the provisions that it argues conflict with the state and federal constitutions.
The lawsuit contends provisions of Whitmer’s stay-home order are “arbitrary, capricious, irrational and abusive.” The provisions violate the First Amendment right to freedom of association and the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment, which entitles individuals to compensation when their property rights are taken, according to the lawsuit filed by lawyer David Helm.

Conservatives don’t protest because they are always at work…not anymore.
Please use the Michigan governor’s FULL name when referring to her: Wretched Gretchen Half-Whitmer. Thank you.
I call her Wretched Witless myself.
Well, people in Michigan can fix this problem come next election, but I seriously doubt that will happen, so it will be even worse the next time the annual flu bug comes around.
From American Thinker….
“Finally, briefly, some perspective. If your family is affected by the loss of a loved one, the disease is a tragedy. However, each day in the U.S., about 6,500 to 7,700 people die from all causes. The present forecast of about 60,000 to 70,000 COVID-19 deaths nationwide from this first wave of disease, means by the time we get to July we will have — over five months — experienced increased fatalities equivalent to about 10 days of ordinary daily American mortality.
Are we really going to implode our economy for the sake of a 2.5% increase in mortality for this one year when the virus caught us all by surprise, especially knowing the death rate will never again be this high? Because, between better medications, vaccines, and herd immunity, the fatality rates for COVID-19 will never be this high again. It really is very comparable to shutting down our national productivity because of the annual flu season.

Next time we’ll be ready. With supplies the Chinese made badly or those New York sold for want of space.
How about Gretched Witless?

The 5th photo down is spectacular as to the indisputable size of this ARMED CROWD.
This web site now has 334,000 subscribers…”Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine”…and (down-screen) another great crowd-of-cars shot.
Today’s irate villagers chasing the monster no longer carry torches. They drive cars and REALLY freeze things up if the lawmakers get out of line.
UNLOCK MICHIGAN, indeed!

The dictator Whitmer has dismissed the thousands of protestors by saying she’s “disappointed,” but supports free speech. She also says these threats to her imperial reign are just endangering themselves with any public contact.
In other words, protest all we want. She rules. We kneel.

Four Michigan sheriffs (Mason, Benzie, Manistee and Lelanau Counties) have announced they won’t enforce Whitmer’s orders as given, but treat each case on an individual basis.
Dang. Somebody read the Constitution. We don’t elect dictators.

RON…….Here is an item off topic but it does demonstrate Millennial Stupidity. The following is from my sister in Bradenton Forida
Seems at Purdue a discussion was underway concerning Requirements to be a POTUS. First consideration was to be at least 35 years old & a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. This is when a female student took exception & wanted to know why being a natural born citizen was important because it prevents so many possible great individuals from running for the Presidency.
She concluded her rant by stating being born via a “C” section should not deny a person from running for the office???
Yes our next generation of highly educated youths are this stupid, they vote & some will end up as Congress critters, Senators, Governors, Mayors or even News Journalists! Sad thought indeed.
Sweet Jesus … 😂! Seems like we all owe that proverbial box of rocks an apology … where the f**k do all these nimrods come from (rhetorically speaking of course)?
Quiller…………………… Sorry for misposting my comment to you instead of Ron….My apologies but it is a doozy!
No worries, mate. College is a lovely place to cocoon without aging, remaining childlike and blissfully ignorant, steeped in the tired prejudices of isolated bigots and liberals, but I repeat myself.
