Finally Got My Sink Fixed

Toejam sent me this. He told me the plumber was expensive, but he was worth it.

  1. This one has been around for a while. Since in my retirement job, I occasionally do faucet work, I tell my favorite clients to put a container of box wine on the counter. A lot cheaper; accomplishes the same thing. 🙂

  2. In the 1990’s a friend who was an employee of the City of Cincinnati, OH started the nation’s first Backflow Prevention program. The idea was to reduce the risk of contamination to city water systems from back pressure or siphoning drawing contaminants into the system. One of the examples he used was that a winery in Cinci had left a garden hose hanging in one of their vats. A fire in a nearby industrial complex caused the fire department to reduce the pressure in the water mains below what existed at the winery. People the next morning opened their faucets to find cabernet running into their sinks.

    I told him he was a damn fool for fixing that.:-)
