ENGLEWOOD — A South Side hospital is asking residents to donate blood as a summer spike in city gun violence has created higher demand in emergency rooms.
St. Bernard Hospital is hosting a blood drive on July 19 that calls on Chicagoans to help save a life.
Is it racist for me to point out that the South Side of Chicago is mostly black?
“Chicago experiences increased violence in the summer. While always needed, during summer months blood donation is vital,” said hospital spokesman Derek Michaels.
So it’s warm weather that causes violence. That must mean that global warming causes black people to shoot each other.
Over the holiday weekend, at least 11 people were killed and 62 were wounded in violence around the city. Most of the shootings occurred on the South and West sides. The bloodshed continued into Monday, when three people, including a 15-year-old boy, were shot dead.
Celebrate the 4th of July! Shoot someone! Let me just point out here that Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation.
While police tout a decrease in shootings and murders overall, the increased violence still creates a shortfall in emergency rooms.
That brings to mind the coke snorting Marion Barry (“The bitch set me up!”) who once said that if you didn’t count the murders, Washington DC had a low crime rate.
“The chronic violence in many of our neighborhoods creates a higher demand for blood supplies,” Michaels said. “It is imperative that we get more people to give blood. [Blood donation] could save the life of a family member or neighbor.”
Maybe if the gummint of Dimocrat run Chicago did sumpin’ about the high crime rate you wouldn’t have the blood shortage. Didja ever notice that when the black population of a city increases, the crime rate goes up? Yep! I’m a racist for pointing this out.
Looking at the evidence (or lack of) in the Zimmerman trial, I don’t see how a jury could convict him. If he gets acquitted look for riots in the black community. If that happens, we can blame our race hustling president (whose election was supposed to transcend race. Instead he is no better than the other RWPPs and has thrust himself into a local situation to gin up the black vote in the 2012 elections. He’ll have blood on his hands), Al Sharpton (who already has blood on his hands from the Crown Heights riots and the Freddie’s Fashion Mart arson, where blacks died. Al Sharpton has been responsible for more black deaths than George Zimmerman), and Jesse Jackson. The RWPPs will be out in force. All the blood will be on their hands. The LSM will be responsible as well since they were responsible in ginning up black outrage in order to further their liberal agenda and get black people to the polls to give the SCoaMF four more years in office to continue his destruction of America and, ironically, continue to keep blacks in poverty. Blacks killing blacks in Chicago is OK, but let a white Hispanic (new racial classification) who is 1/4 black kill a black teenaged thug in self defense and it’s the crime of the century. Disgusting!
Out of all blood donors in the Chicago area, less than 5 percent are blacks and Latinos, officials said.
So the people responsible for most of the murders are the people least likely to donate blood. It’s “creepy ass crackas” who, not only have to pay all the taxes to support these dysfunctional savages, they also have to supply all the blood to save their lives.
Maybe they should offer some extra food stamps to blood donors.
Your blood has to be free of recreational influences before they will accept it.
That’s an understandable precaution. Might not mix well with the recipient’s drugs.
But are they willing to receive whitey blood if it’s given voluntarily?
Sorry, but my blood is toxic to black folks. It is full of hard work, commitment, and common sense. We all know that these things are poison to them.
Most people who would be willing to donate blood know better than to show up in Englewood.

According to Wikipedia, Chicago’s blacks account for 32.9% of the population, and hispanics for 28.9%, for a combined total of 61.8%. And they comprise less than 5% of blood donors. That’s pretty puny and selfish.

I live in the River North area of Chicago, next to the Gold Coast, and Lincoln Park , and Wrigleyville These four areas probably have 80% of the nightclubs in Chicago and approximately 50% of all of the liquor licenses issued in this city. You can usually count on one hand the number of deaths by shootings in those four areas (maybe about in a full year. Add to those areas the parts of the city that border the north and northwestern suburbs of the city and the “safe” areas of the south side and you probably have an area in size of about half the size of the city of Chicago. Add to that area the Hispanic neighbor hoods who generally have a lower gun crime rate and you are left with an area of maybe 20% of the city where most of the gun violence occurs…or an area approximately 5 by 6 miles. That tells you just how concentrated the violence is and Hizzoner Da Mayor can’t do anything about it. GMAFB.
Back in 1978 when I went to IBM computer basic, I lived in the River Plaza apartments just north of the river. I thought nothing of walking up to Rush Street and back after dark. That was and I imagine still is a nice safe part of Chicago. You wouldn’t catch me dead south of Soldier’s Field after dark. My friend Eric has a story of him and Black Five being drunk on the south side of Chicago and hitting a curb and getting two flat tires. It wasn’t very far from the Cook County jail. He said they were lucky to get out of there alive. They left the car and went looking for it the next day when it was light.
No wonder you stayed there. It was right next to the IBM building. Yes, now River North may be the the safest place in the city next to the loop. Denny, you would barely even recognize it if you came here today.
Prolly not. I was in the first class to be housed in River Plaza. Before that students were housed up on Chestnut Street. Some dude bought out the first four floors of River Plaza and rented them to IBM basic students. My roommate and I paid $12 per day apiece. Even at that outrageous rent, my per diem easily covered it and I made money on the deal. I could cook so my roommate and I didn’t have to go out every night. I also had a car so we could go to a supermarket for food. Once a week, we’d go to the deli at Marina City and buy steaks and a good bottle of wine. I had a real good time going to that school.
It was an easy walk thru the Sun Times building to the IBM building. Good thing too.I was there from January thru March of 1978 and it snowed like crazy. There was snow on the ground the whole time I was there. One day it was windy as hell. I walked out of the Sun Times building, the wind caught me, and drove me right across the street. Fortunately, the light was in my favor.
