Crime author Elmore Leonard died yesterday of complications from a stroke.
Famed Hollywood writer Elmore Leonard died on Tuesday after suffering a stroke on July 29. He was 87.
Best known for “Get Shorty,” “Out of Sight” and most-recently the FX series “Justified,” Leonard was surrounded by his family at the time of his death, his researcher, Gregg Sutter, told FOX411.
Thanks Mr. Denny.
I love Mr. Leonard’s writing. Several authors and critics have stated his ability to write dialog was worthy of study. I like the books the TV show “Justified” are based on and would probably say 3:10 to Yuma was my favorite that was turned into a movie. Not bad for a guy that wrote for sixty years and didn’t really make it big until he was two-thirds of the way into his career.
But my favorite part was, he didn’t always write from the good guy’s point of view. Even the hero of the story made you believe he could take a turn at any time.
RIP Mr. Leonard.
