Last week I had Ana Vidovic playing Asturias. This week it’s another one of my favorites, Recuerdos de la Alhambra where she demonstrates her mastery of tremolo. What a beautiful piece of music played by a master.

The first time I ever heard this was by Andre Segovia in the mid 1960’s when I installed an FM converter in my car. Good stuff. Charo also does a credible job on this piece.
I have a nice vintage performance of Chet Atkins doing this one on VHS. I used to be able to do some of that fast tremolo picking but last year I peeled the tendon clean off the bone of my right ring finger while tucking a blanket in the couch and it’s never been the same. That’s the last time I try to help my wife with domestic chores . . .
That’s why Glenn Gould didn’t marry and always wore gloves in all seasons. A pretty miserable life in a way but fantastic piano playing. Specially Bach…

Thank you!

I fingerpick and play a little bit of Bach classical guitar, but I can not play tremolo to save my life.
Outstanding, Denny, thank you!
