More Schadenfreud In The Morning

Found this from Don Surber’s Daily Scoreboard (#12).

Veteran House Democratic aides are sick over the insurance prices they’ll pay under Obamacare, and they’re scrambling to find a cure.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Dimocrats getting boned by the law they rammed through in the dead of the night using legislative tricks. Eat it, assholes!

“In a shock to the system, the older staff in my office (folks over 59) have now found out their personal health insurance costs (even with the government contribution) have gone up 3-4 times what they were paying before,” Minh Ta, chief of staff to Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.), wrote to fellow Democratic chiefs of staff in an email message obtained by POLITICO. “Simply unacceptable.”

It’s your bill. You passed it without reading it. As ex-Speaker Blinky said, “We will have to pass the bill so we can find out what’s in it.” This is what was in it. It’s your law. We didn’t want it but you rammed it down our throats against the will of us American people. Pass a 2900 page bill, without reading it, in haste, repent at leisure. You’re getting exactly what you deserve and voted for. Good and hard. It didn’t have to be this way. You didn’t hold hearings. You didn’t allow any input from Republicans. Obumbler said, “I won.” Republicans were marginalized. Now you’re getting screwed. It’s your bill. You own it.

Under the Affordable Care Act, and federal regulations, many congressional staffers — designated as “official” aides — were forced to move out of the old heavily subsidized Federal Employees Health Benefits program and into the District of Columbia’s health insurance marketplace exchange. Others designated as “unofficial” were allowed to stay in the FEHB program. Managers had to choose whether aides were “official” or “unofficial” by Oct. 31, and Ta said that wasn’t enough time to make an informed decision about who would benefit and who would lose out by going into the new system.

Welcome to the obamanation you forced on the rest of the country.

In the email, Ta noted that older congressional staffs may leave their jobs because of the change to their health insurance.

Poor babies. Do the words hoist and petard mean anything to you?

Under the Affordable Care Act,

Maybe we should rename it the Unaffordable Care Act, since that’s what it’s turning out to be, which, of course, I (and anyone with more than two functioning brain cells) predicted it would be when the Dimocrats wrote and passed this bill. Didja notice that the LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party isn’t calling it Obummercare very much anymore?

Not enough time? Maybe you should have taken the Republicans’ advice and delayed the implementation. Yannow, the advice that Obungler and the rest of your Dimocrat leadership said amounted to arson and terrorism? Man, I’m just loving this so much. It reminds me of Top Gun when they were talking about dogfighting and Hollywood (I think that’s who it was) said, “This shit is giving me a hard on.” That’s the way I feel when Dimocrats and clueless Obummercare supporters get screwed by Obummercare. It’s such an awesome feeling. My nipples are hard.

Moore’s office was one of those in which all staff were designated as “official” and pushed into the exchanges. That ended up being a problem for older staff, who weren’t accustomed to paying higher premiums because of their age.

But age is one of the few factors insurers can use to adjust prices under Obamacare — and older people will often pay much more than younger people.

This is the kind of shit you get when you pass lousy legislation. You were in such a hurry to pass it before Scott Brown took his seat in the Senate that you wrote and passed lousy legislation that is screwing the people who work for you. This shit just warms the cockles of my heart.

I love the smell of Schandenfreud in the morning. It smells like vindication.

  1. The true crime here is that they will fix it for themselves and not fix it for us. It really does not matter because most of these staffers will be out of work after next years elections.
It is funny that they took the more impressive sounding “official” title before they researched the Obamacare ramifications. Sort of what their clueless bosses did when they passed the bill. They shit the bed, and now they can sleep in it.

  2. I thought that my plan wasn’t supposed to change. I have FEHB, and again next year it’ll be different, cost me more out-of-pocket and the premiums are goin’ up.
At least the coverage I have means I ain’t havin’ to depend on MediScare. When I get around to retirin’, my hope it’s that I’ll have enough that I won’t have to take SocSec, but with the way things are goin’ in this country it looks as though I need to find out the age at which my earnings won’t affect my ability to have SocSecAdmin send me a check. Might be a good idea to take the bucks and bank ’em.
