Saturday Metal 11-10-2013

So there I was, back in the early 70’s. I worked for a florist part time while going to college. It was one of those holidays where we delivered a lot of flowers, prolly Valentine’s Day. It was dark and I was using my own car to deliver flowers and I was listening to KSHE (the best rock station in the world) and this came on. WTF? I got to the address and I had to wait until this song finished. This was recorded before Felix Pappalardi went deaf.

The next day, I went out and bought this album.

  1. Felix Pappalardi went dead. Killed by his old lady for banging numerous groupies and bragging to her about how much more satisfying they were at giving oral sex than she was. A swallow is a pretty bird!

  2. Wow. That’s… really, really good. I’ve never heard of these guys before.

I was never really that much into metal, but I’m developing a taste for it. Your “Saturday Metal” posts give me the chance to avoid the crap and try some of the better stuff.

Which albums of theirs are worth having?

    • I think this is the only good album they put out, altho’ some people think the album that had Nantucket Sleigh Ride was a good one. The only stuff I like on this album are the live tracks.

        And now, so did I.

I can hear snippets of styles I’ve heard from Genesis, Lenny Kravitz, Zepplin, and others. I cannot believe I’ve not heard of these guys before.

  3. Only have one of their CDs but I just ordered this one from Amazon. Shit! only seven bucks for it. When I first started listening to it I paused it and went and mixed another big Jack & Coke, let it play while I shopped for some parts for the old Mustang. I just built another Jack and am going to listen to it again. Thanks bud, should be shitfaced by the time the second round is done. Happy Veterans Day!!
