I saw this on Gateway Pundit. Last Friday, December 6, was a memorable date for blacks in this country.
On this day in 1865, the 13th Amendment — abolishing slavery — became part of the Constitution — when ratified by three-quarters of the states.
Despite protests from the Democrats, the Republican Party made banning slavery part of its national platform in 1864. Senator Lyman Trumbull (R-IL) wrote the final version of the text, combining the proposed wordings of several other Republican congressmen.
All Republicans in Congress voted for the 13th Amendment, while nearly all Democrats voted against it. So strongly did President Abraham Lincoln (R-IL) support the 13th Amendment, he signed the document, though presidential approval is not part of the amendment process.
Yes, outlawing slavery was a Republican achievement.

The father of Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW, a Dimocrat, voted against the Civil Rights Act. Yeah! Pope Albert lied when he said his father voted for it.
Now, you have traded one form of slavery for another. You are totally dependent upon Massa, the Dimocrat Party, for food, clothing. and shelter. You are kept poor, uneducated, and stuck on the Dimocrat Party plantation. We saw what happened when the state and local gummint, run by Dimocrats, failed during the aftermath of Katrina. You have the black useful idiots in Congress who grow rich and live high on the hog while doing absolutely nothing to improve your lives. If the KKK had come up with a plan to break up your families and keep you poor and uneducated they couldn’t have done a better job than today’s Dimocrat Party. And furthermore the Republicans had absolutely nothing to do with the KKK. It was the terrorist wing of the Dimocrat Party. That’s right. The KKK was composed solely of Dimocrats. You people were really stupid to fall for the bullshit the Dimocrats sold you and continue selling you to this day.

Locally we have a young educated black woman who starts every post on ErieTopix with a statement about racist white people who are getting paid back for the sins of our ancestors, founding fathers & the Republican Party.She also posted black people cannot possibly be racists after hundreds of years of slavery.
I took her to the wood shed with a diatribe over slavery, who was really responsible for it including the culpability of her own African ancestors as well as the history of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the KKK, latter day black race baiting poverty pimps & the Black congressional caucus.
Well she quit posting for several weeks but in returning NEVER acknowledged I was right in what I posted to her.
No….she just returned to Obama worship & entitlements along with racist white people comments. You cannot fix stupid if people do not want to accept the truth even when they proudly proclaim their intellectual superiority by having earned a useless college degree. The Democrat Party is indeed the party of the plantation, which is where it was born. If you look at the thing honestly, you see the plantation mentality at work: The boss man calls the tune, and the boys dance to that tune. The boss man gives goodies to the favored and punishment to anyone that gets out of line. The only change from the old days is today’s boss man is bigger and more powerful, and they tell us this is a good boss man and he wants to help you, not like the old days when the boss man was a bad guy. Of course, back in the old days, the boss man, thought — if he bothered to think about such things at all — that he was doing good by his people, since they weren’t capable of taking care of themselves.
What is it about humanity that makes us give up on our problems and seek a boss man in human form? And, I, too, seek a boss man, but I understand this “boss” is not and can never be human. I look to God because only in Him do we see the ideals that we must pursue. That’s the thinking that guides me; take it or leave it. And that’s the reason, by the way, that bigger government moves into ever-greater conflict with independent religion: Big government will stand for no other authority other than itself.

I don’t see where this is a racist post, just one that’s directed at those who are “stupid” and that knows no color lines. Keep up the good work.
What about the democrat George Wallace governor of Alabama who also stood on the school steps to keep the black kids from entering? Another shining example of Democrats helping the “poor” blacks.
Just thought I would catch you up on your high school history. The names of the two main parties in america saw a very strange shift beetween each other the democratic party of the time was renamed as the democratic- republican party. Shortly there after they were again renamed as the republican party. The republican party of the time went through a short period as a subgroup of the democratic-republican party and then became the democratic party we know today. So at the time you are referring too, the republicans of that time closely resemble the democratic party platforms of today, in a general sense, and for the most part still distributed about the country in the same way, and the democrats of the time are very close to the republican party ideals of today. To make a long reply short, check the parties you are referring to, especially the American parties of the civil war era, for the exact aforementioned reason before making the hasty conclusion which happens to be the exact opposite of what is in fact correct
I don’t need a history lesson from you as I prolly know more about American history than you do. The Republican Party of today originated with the Whig Party, which became the Republican Party. The Dimocrat Party of 1860 was the party of slavery and continued to be the party of Jim Crow laws for the next 100 years until the 60’s when it magically pivoted on a dime and became the party of welfare which broke up the black family and kept them poor, uneducated, and dependent upon the gummint. MLK was actually a Republican. It was the Dimocrat Party which resisted integration. Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK which was the terrorist wing of the Dimocrat Party. Senator Albert Gore, the father of Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW, voted against the Civil Rights Act. Today’s Republican Party was never a subset of the Dimocrat Party as it was the Whig Party before it became the Republican Party around the time of Lincoln. I suggest you go read a history book from before the time the rat bastard commies took over the gummint schools and started teaching socialist propaganda and revisionist history. I was educated in the 50’s and early 50’s before the gummint schools morphed into socialist indoctrination centers.
And another thing, the “party of Jefferson and Jackson” which has become today’s Dimocrat Part, believed in limited gummint. Jefferson worried about financing the Lewis and Clark expedition since it violated his belief in what the gummint should pay for. If Jefferson and Jackson were alive today they would be aghast at what their party has become. Jefferson and Adams feuded for most of their political lives because one believed in small gummint with power devolving to the states. That was Jefferson. Adams believed in a powerful federal gummint. John Adams would feel at home in today’s Dimocrat Party. Jefferson wouldn’t which is the irony of the Jefferson Jackson Dimmer the Dimocrats hold every year. I remember Babs Streisand gushing about how fascinated she was in reading a book about Jefferson that BJ gave her. She must not have very good reading comprehension skills.
You see, political parties don’t just change their agendas on a dime, that’s left to Romney. The fact still stands that the republican party of the civil war era was extremely liberal, nothing like the republican party of today, and the democratic party of the civil war era was extremely conservative, very much unlike the democratic party of today. The vast majority of the KKK was and still is made of the modern republican, and previously of the democratic party of the civil war era, and is by no means affiliated with the democratic party of today. You are correct about the republican party origins being for the Whigs, but the transition you stated as having occurred is both not feasible, and illogical. As for my education, the system of schooling in American history had is primarily using primary sources to gain understanding of history, sources untainted of “rat commie bastard” influence. Finally, as for the party of Jefferson, he was very involved in the period yeoman ideal, embraced by the democratic party of the pre- civil war era. I also never said that the republican party was a subset of the democratic party either, I said that the democratic party was the party formed after branching off of the democratic- republican party, primary made up of the previous constituents of the previous republican party. I think you are taking a lot of issue with the labeling of each of the parties I mentioned with there historically accurate names. It’s like if the republican party decided to rename itself the national republican party of democracy, it’s a different name, yes, but the people that are a part of it would remain the same, and the ideals of the party would remain the same as well. May I also suggest a fact check or possibly digging deeper into the subject of the switch of the names before conning up with such accusations, and a spell checker wouldn’t hurt either.

Maybe you weren’t paying attention in school when they taught when to use there, their, and they’re. Do you also have problems with to, too, and two? Back in the 50’s and 60’s, when I went to school, we took American History in grade school, junior high school, and high school. I also had to take American History in college. I realize you’re trying to defend today’s Dimocrat Party but the fact remains that they were the party of slavery and today they are as well. What they have done to the black community is a crime. If the KKK had tried to come up with a plan to break up the black family and keep blacks poor and uneducated, they couldn’t have done a better job than today’s Dimocrat Party. BTW, the definition of a liberal has radically changed from the definition of a liberal 100 years ago. The same goes for progressive.
Nice little snide remark about Romney. Is that akin to, “If you like your doctor you can keep him, period. If you like your health insurance you can keep it, period”? Or, “I will run the most transparent administration in history”? Even the White House press corps is starting to mutter about that and they support Obungler. Or “We will publish the healthcare law debate on CSPAN.” Yeah. That happened. They rammed a bill through using legislative tricks and now they own the suck. Howza ’bout, “I will close Gitmo in one year”? Or, “All bills will be posted on the web for 48 hours before passage”. Remember Paygo? The Dims passed that and exSpeaker Blinky said that with that there will be no more deficit spending. How did that work out? They immediately violated their bill. Or, “I will sign no healthcare bill that adds one dime to the deficit.” Obamacare is gonna bust the budget. I could go on and on. In the 60’s the Dimocrats changed their agenda on a dime and gave you 9 cents change.
