Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of you from me, from beautiful Columbia South Carolina where we are experiencing some massive global warming. It’s in the 30’s. It’s a good thing there is global warming ’cause it would be a lot colder.

Merry merry, Happy happy to everyone! And to Denny…thanks again for letting me play with Toejam in your comments! Mwah!

  2. Merry Christmas! Our mailbox is buried in an accumulation of global warming and the boys’ snow forts are almost finished. This year we’re going to get out the heavy artillery and use a baseball pitching machine for snowball fights.

  3. Merry Christmas Denny. And to all of you, friends.

Toronto has not fully recovered yet from last Sunday’s best case of Global Warming: the worst ice storm in Canadian history. The city looks like a war zone. So many people are still without power in their homes. It’s very cold and now, snow is adding to the mess. I was one of the few, only deprived of internet and television for 4 days. It’s slowly returning, stuttering between yes and now.

  4. Merry Christmas from Dudley1 to everyone ……….
We have a White Christmas “as usual” ,current snow total for winter is 58″ . The overhyped “at least here in Erie” named storm Gemini did not live up to weather channel projections.
Big surprise ! I suggest they add two more named storms ….Bullshit & Horse Pucky to go along with the rest of the Weather Channel attempt to boost viewership.
While some areas did receive ice & more snow then usual , I doubt Gemini was any worse then what we experience each & every year. To aggrandize the mundane on a regular basis makes it likely if & when a really extreme storm were to develop…..people will ignore it.
Anyway 2013 was a pretty good year for Dudley1 & family except for the continuing Obama nightmare. There is just no end to the stupidity of the American voter.
Most notable locally was I ended a 50 year relationship with Ford Motor Company…..My F-250 SuperDuty is history replaced with a new Nissan Titan, It was a hard decision to make but the deal offered , the trade in allowance given & the 6 year 120,000 mile extended warranty bumper to bumper just could not be ignored. We will see how well this vehicle performs .
Here`s to a better 2014 for every one……. Happy New Year!

  5. And a Merry Christmas to all of you from Vancouver USA, right across the Columbia from the People’s Republic of Portland, Oregon. Or as our local and national talk show host, Lars Larson, calls it, Havana-on-the-Willamette.

Right now it is 36 degrees and trying to rain. Typical for this time of year. But, in our home town of Cut Bank, Montana, it is close to Zero. Cut Bank is one of those towns that it is good to be from. A long way from.

  6. As we continue to dig ourselves out from the “little ice age” for the last 100 years or so, I believe that a little global warming is just what this environment needs. Longer growing seasons, more plant life, more food, less fuel needed to warm our houses … the list goes on.

Sadly, it looks like our little warming trend has stalled for the last fifteen years or so. I guess the watermelons* didn’t get the memo.

*green on the outside; red on the inside.

  7. Received this today and wished to share – hopefully won’t offend anyone!!

    Holiday Wishes

    To All My Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2014, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other countries nor the only “America” in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes.

    To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

  8. Merry Christmas from Starvation Ridge. Climate change has left us a little short of snow this year, it’s still white but just barely. It has been too cold to snow and the jet stream will not bring us any moisture. We will need a lot more or the fire season may be a real hot one this summer. Oh well, that’s life in the northern mountains. Too much snow until there is not enough. My snow plow is rusting. Stay warm and enjoy the season.
