AUGUSTA, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – An Augusta hospital has adopted a new policy banning Christmas carolers from singing religious songs in public patient areas.
The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center announced the new policy Monday according to the Athens-Banner Herald.

“Military service veterans, male and female, represent people of all faiths,” hospital spokesman Brian Rothwell said in a statement according to Athens-Banner Herald. “It is out of respect for every faith that The Veterans Administration gives clear guidance on what ‘spiritual care’ is to be given and who is to give it.”
A group of high school students from Augusta’s Alleluia Community School were prevented from singing traditional holiday songs that honor and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ to veterans by the medical center last week.
Christ on a crutch! WTF is wrong with these people? I’m an atheist and this offends me. What is Christmas? It’s a religious holiday. Of course Christmas carols are religious songs.
Toto, we’re nowhere near Kansas anymore! We’re somewhere in the Twilight Zone.
They need to take this to its logical conclusion: If you are offended (whatever “faith” or lack there of) then don’t expect holiday time off of work for Christmas; either that or we need to have many more paid-time-off “holidays” on our calendars and supported by employers and government…put up or shut up I say.
This idea of “It is out of respect for every faith that The Veterans Administration gives clear guidance on what ‘spiritual care’ is to be given and who is to give it” is just another example of how far-reaching and deep-rooted political correctness has become. It is quite apparent to me that “diversity” (all hail diversity) has for too long been defined by those who are the harbingers of intolerance.
