2014 Monoski Camp Trip Day 3

Denver Colorado

Yesterday the weather was miserable. Today it was beautiful. Blue skies all the way. Great day for a drive. East of Manhattan I-70 was crawling with cops. West of Manhattan I only saw one cop. I made it to Denver by 3:00 PM so I was able to see most of the NFC playoff game. Got to see all of the AFC game. They did a nice tribute to Dan Dierdorf. I was living in St. Louis when he played for the football Cardinals nd he was always a class act.

Heard on the news today that I-70 through the mountains had a bit of snow. I’m hoping the plows have cleared it and I’ll be able to make it to Aspen OK.

  1. Glad you made it to Colorado. Friend of mine has been as Steamboat Springs this week and they had snow Thursday and Friday this week. She said it was wonderful skiing. Have a great time.

  2. Denny – please make sure you let us all know if the cops are waiting to pounce on all the out-of-state cars when leaving Colorado, figuring that you made the trip to do some, er, shopping.

    • I wouldn’t be surprised of they were lookin’ for any excuse to stop cars leavin’ & enterin’ Colorado. I’m hearing stories of growers here in Kalifornistahn being unable to sell their crops, so it’d make sense to try to sneak some of that stuff into an area where it can be sold legally. Oops! Maybe it wouldn’t make so much sense if you get busted in a neighboring state, huh?
Sure should help the state governments who collect fines and impound vehicles from those who can’t make it into Colorado without gettin’ caught.
Denny, hope you have a good time and an easy drive home.

  3. I don’t understand why Dan Dierdorf is retiring. Always liked him and last night he proved he is still sharp as a tack, knows how to break down the game and isn’t that old.

I guess they are making way for someone younger.
