Here’s Leo Kottke showing off playing a 12 string guitar.

Big Kottke fan here. When I feel like messin’ with alternate tunings, this is my favorite style to play. If I get in the zone I can rip it at this tempo pretty well. The trick is to maintain the rhythm with the right hand and to interject lots of percussive chucks and muted notes in between the articulated notes and chords.
I was never good playing alternate tunings. It was a pain in the ass to change the tuning for only one or two songs.
Fender has teamed up with Roland to build a digital Strat. Simply by twisting a knob you can go from acoustic to electric. You can select various tunings. You can make it a 12-string. You can go from stratacaster to telacaster. It’s an amazing guitar. Goes through batteries very quickly. I got one off Amazon for around $800.

Kottke is awesome. I saw him live once.

Interesting. It sounds like more than one guitar.
It’s a 12-string so you get a richer sound.
Loved it! Reminded of Yes’s The Clap, similar style.
And both Leo Kottke and Steve Howe are self taught.
