Slapped In The Face By Reality

Saw this story at Gateway Pundit.

PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle/AP) — One Oregon mother says that she is unable to afford health insurance for her and her 18-month-old son because it’s too expensive.

How can that be? Obungler promised that premiums would go down $2500. The Obamessiah wouldn’t lie to us would he?

The woman — who wishes to remain anonymous

Because she’s a booger eatin’ moh-ron

— tells KOIN-TV that she originally championed President Barack Obama’s signature health care law because she thought it would help people in her situation.

And what situation might that be?

“I’ve been a cheerleader for the Affordable Care Act since I heard about it and I assumed that it was designed for people in my situation,” she told KOIN. “I was planning on using the Affordable Care Act and I had done the online calculator in advance to make sure I was going to be able to afford it.”

A previous version of this story said that she was a freelance yoga instructor. They took that out of this version for some reason.

Her husband works for a non-profit organization that pays for his health care, but the couple is unable to afford to have her and their son covered under his plan. And she’s been told their combined income is too much to qualify for a subsidized health care plan under Cover Oregon.

“It wasn’t until I started the process and got an agent that I started hearing from them I wasn’t going to qualify for subsidies because I qualify on my husband’s insurance,” she told KOIN.

Poor baby!

The woman is hoping things work out but she doesn’t know if she will have health care for her and her son.

“I guess I’m hoping that I will find out there’s a way around this, but I don’t know yet,” she told KOIN.

Elections have consequences. By the way, I wonder if Peggy Joseph has health insurance? Or a house? Or a car? Or even a job? I wish someone would look her up and find out how’s she is doing.

  1. A quick check of available job opportunities revealed nothing available for a freelance yoga instructor. Could be a poor career choice!

  2. She was named in the local report. She is 33 years old and is a free lance Yoga instructor. Her husband works for a “non-profit”. She could have purchased coverage on he husbands’ plan, but felt it was too expensive. She championed Obama care because he said it would be “affordable.” When she went on line she found out that their combined incomes precluded any subsidy. She was turned down for her own policy as she could join her husband on his employer provided coverage. Just another uninformed, clueless, sucker that fell for Obama’s hope and lies. It is funny that she caught hell from almost all of the comentors on the original story. A common comment was “Enjoy the SUCK”

She reminds me of the California Obama voter who was all for Obamacare until she found out that she was expected to help pay for the uninsured leaches and Obama phone users.

    • I suppose it will be even funnier when she does get the expensive insurance coverage and then discovers that having insurance does not equate with receiving quality care.

  3. She should get divorced. As a single mother with no income, she’s probably entitled to a bag of goodies.

Hmmm, “freelance yoga instructor” sounds like a euphemism for “hooker”.

    • Daddy dearest would probably not be too thrilled with the idea of getting divorced so she can get on obamacare. Not only would he lose the tax break for being married with child, he would see half or more of his income taken in payments to her for “child support” and other wealth transfers.

  4. Hey Denny

yep she believed the lies that obungler spread, she expected to get some free stuff compliments of the people that actually worked for a living. Her husband probably worked at one of those places that is a progressive non profit, just taking a guess from the geographic area(seattle).

  5. UHHH! – ’bout Peggy Joseph – Just do a Google search for “Where is Peggy Joseph in 2014?” or, “Where is Peggy Joseph?” or “Peggy Joseph Where is She Now?” and see what ya’ come up with.

C’mon ya’ know Google, It’s too damned Liberal to tell ya’ anything damning for the Obungler even if they know it. As usual, when attempting a dead-end Google search such as this I will only search 5 pages – If Google ain’t gonna raise their ugly head by then there’s no use wasting any more time.

Over 5 years ago Michelle Malkin called her “Peggy the Moocher” and said that Peggy Joseph was a “Voter” who lived in Sarasota, Florida and did her infamous 2008 election interview with a TV reporter. Now listen, if that’s so, it shouldn’t be too difficult for any reporter to find her again, right?

OK then, I’ll ask again, Why? Because dammit! She was either just another late-election figment of a Liberal’s immagination, a shill, planted by the Obama campaign – OR – IF, she was real – None of the Slime-Stream Media has the balls to interview her again. Nothin’ new there.

And what about that Julia broad? Has she found gainful employment under Obama? ( No pun intended ) and is she now happy banging her boss on her “climb up the corporate ladder”?

Speaking of ‘banging’ is Sandra Fluke happily getting her brains banged-out every night at taxpayer’s expense as she so appealed to congress? “Enquireing Minds Want to Know” as they say.

These last two may just be the only verifiable successes of this Obama /Socialist administration even though we’re still faced with the question of, “Where is Peggy Joseph?”

    • Periodically, I do a google search on Peggy Joseph just to see if a “journalist” has done his/her job. Silly me. They’re no longer journalists, they’re propagandists. Look how Cindy Sheehan dropped off the radar after Obungler got elected. Now, if there were a conservative voter who said how good it was gonna be under a Republican president and she fell on hard times, we would hear that story over and over again.

  6. She needs to move to Seattle. I understand the minimum wage there is going to $15/hour.
    That’ll solve all her problems…

    • Even better let her move to Colorado where legitimate guns are verboten but Marijuana is legal to buy at the local store for any brain-dead pot-head to continue on his or her merry mind-bending, irresponsible trip.

More of the Liberal Progressive’s moves to CONTROL the masses.

  7. It is not just the Government ……..I received an important letter from Aetna Insurance about my account, so important they sent me three identical copies in the same envelope.
They informed me my Specialist would no longer be a part of the Aetna Medicare network & I needed to find a new specialist …even provided a phone number for me to call.
Well…..I called & was put on hold , while waiting read the following,
    Doctor xxx Benson
    xxxx road
    K C Mo 64111-3220
    Phone (816)xxx-xxxx
This health care providers participation in the Aetna Network will end on 07/01/2013
It was nice of Aetna to notify me 6 months after his termination as a provider but………
    1. I live in Erie Pa about 900 miles & some 15 hours driving time from this specialists office.
    2. I have never heard of this guy, been a patient or had any contact with his office.
Finally the Customer Rep came on the phone & asked how she could help me ….I explained the above , she had to review my file so back on hold I went.
    When she returned , I was asked the following;
1, Was I sure I did not visit this Doctor ever or been treated in any fashion including consultation for a medical condition? I answered, Never met the good doctor & certainly would have remembered the trip if I had!
2.Was then told to just ignore the urgent in triplicate notice as it apparently was just a standard notification sent to all Aetna Subscribers when a Doctor is terminated from the Aetna system.
After a short pause I asked the Ten million dollar question ……Do you mean to tell me Aetna now has a policy to notify every subscriber each time a change is made in a physicians status? She said Yes it is important to keep people aware.
I then said ,This is asinine ,I am sure Aetna must get a very good bulk mailing rate but with millions of subscribers it must be extremely cost prohibitive to do this & suggested they only notify existing patients of doctors they terminate.
I also told the hapless young lady if Aetna ever chose to have a cost saving idea project she might want to review our recorded conversation for details as it would be a sure fire winner.
I am sure what I told her did not register.
