If was to guess, I would probably say that this picture was taken at the top of Logan Pass (aka The Going to the Sun Highway) in Glacier National Park. I have bee on that pass many times. I grew up about 75 miles east of there.
Ralph, The Park Service and Montana both have rotary snow plows that will throw the snow a long way from the roadway.

Erie Pa….Presque Isle Peninsula State Park, An unusual number of Arctic Global Warming Owls have migrated south from Canadian polar regions to seek food & cover.
It is believed these Owls which have been seen occasionally as far south as Georgia & this year some reports from Florida are abundant all over the North East in numbers never seen in over 100 years.
These rare Owls formerly known as Snowy Owls are pure white, fluffy & quite large are seldom seen below the upper Great Lakes as they commonly range through out the Canadian Arctic & Tundra.
Experts are mystified as to why the unprecedented Southern invasion currently underway has occurred……Perhaps the fact it is freaking cold might have something to do with it , just a thought on my part though.
It is kinda unnerving in the morning to emerge from ones house in sub-zero temperatures & see one of these birds perched on your neighbors house roof waiting for someones house cat to venture outside.
With Lake Erie approaching 96% total ice cover…..we will keep a lookout for any Global Bears roaming the ice looking for Global Fur Seals!
