John Dingle
WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. John Dingell, a Dearborn Democrat who replaced his father in the House some 58 years ago and became one of the most powerful members of Congress ever, will step down after this year, capping a career umatched in its longevity and singular in its influence and sweep.
Dingell, 87, told the Free Press that he’d reached the decision to retire at the end of his current term — his 29th full one — rather than run for re-electon because it was time, given a list of achievements that any other member of Congress would envy, and his continued frustration over partisan gridlock.
A list of achievements a rat bastard commie who hates this country and all that it stands for would envy. Partisan gridlock? That’s a good thing. Unfortunately, there wasn’t partisan gridlock when Obummercare was rammed through.
So Dingleberry will be gone. Good riddance! But since this is Dearbornistan, they’ll either get another rat bastard commie from there or a Mooslime like Keith Ellison.
As a lifelong Michigan resident and a former resident of the City Of Detoilet (48 yrs.) I agree with you. This is a perfect example for the term limiting of all politicians. He took over the seat from his dad in ’55 and there’s a rumor his wife is running for his seat. F$%k the Dingles.
Born in Detroit in ’39, moved to Dearborn in ’48 because the old neighborhood was “changing”. bad luck seems to follow this old WASP northern European working Republican.

Yep.
Guys like Dingle, Byrd, Gore, and yes even Bush are the reason our founders specifically outlawed Titles of Nobility when framing the Constitution. They were afraid that the Titles of Nobility would lead to hereditary rulers and they knew the danger that had. Once a titled class takes over the governance they would do what it took to insure that they remained in power. You can’t stop the voters from voting Name Recognition any more than you can stop them from voting race solidarity. Stupid voters will cast stupid votes that result in stupid mistakes.
Poster child for term limits!
Follow-Up:
Dingell dynasty? Retiring congressman’s wife to run for his seat
February 25, 2014
A Democratic strategist confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday that Debbie Dingell, the wife of the 87-year-old Democratic congressman, is planning to announce she will run for her husband’s seat, after he confirmed he will not seek a 30th term.
Debbie Dingell’s plans were earlier reported by The Detroit News. The Detroit News ( The Dim-O voice of Michigan ) reported the congressman’s wife plans to make the announcement in Michigan’s 12th District on Friday.
Debbie Dingell, 60, is a prominent Democratic activist and was widely expected to pursue the seat. She is a former General Motors executive ( DUUUH! Where else! ) and a member of the Democratic National Committee.
Political analysts told the Detroit News that Dingell would be a heavy frontrunner to win the race, but may face challengers in the primary.
Republicans are not expected to have much of a shot at picking up the seat, according to the analysts. ( Another DUUUH! )
Should she run, and win, it would cement a continuation of a Dingell dynasty of sorts in the district. Rep. Dingell replaced his father after winning a special election following the elder Dingell’s death in 1955.
Dingell has played a role in a number of major pieces of legislation over the past nearly 60 years, including ( Pseudo ) President Obama’s health care overhaul.
Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., who was elected in 1964, is now in line to become the longest-serving member currently in Congress. Coupled with the retirement of Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., Michigan is poised to lose more than 90 years of (DIS)service from its congressional delegation.
Can’t we just cut the Michi-goons, Illi-noises, New Yawks, Massa-two-shits and Californicates out of the union and get on with it? That would only leave the Obungler with 52 states to deal with!
