I don’t give a flying fuck about your sexual orientation but I am tired of the gay assholes shoving it in my face. Their latest round of bullshit is forcing the CEO of Mozilla to resign because he gave $1000 to the Prop 8 campaign in California. Yep! He had to resign because of a $1000 donation. The Gaystapo got their panties in a wad over that.
As a result, I changed my browser from Firefox to Pale Moon. It’s pretty much the same as Firefox and looks the same. Unfortunately, on web pages I access it sez it’s Firefox. My sister sent me a fix for that. It’s here. I’m repeating the fix below, but please click on the link anyway to give him the traffic.
- Create a new tab.
- Type “about:config” into the Address Bar as if it were an internet site (URL).
- Type “compatMode” into the Search box that will appear right below the Address Bar.
- On the line general.useragent.compatMode.firefox there are three settings: user set, boolean, true. Click on “true” and it will change to false.
- Close the tab.
This only takes about a minute to do and will affect Firefox stats. They’re already down because of all the people who have switched to Chrome. Now all the people who have changed to Pale Moon like I have will now no longer show Firefox. Let’ show Mozilla how we feel with their cave to the Gaystapo.

I have nothing against gay people. Many of the techs and nurses who took care of me at Shepherd were gay. I do have a big problem with the Gaystapo and their thuggish behavior. Fuck ’em!

Got rid of them quite a while back. I use Chrome almost exclusively and Bing as my search engine. I keep IE simply because some logins require it.

I’m with you in spirit. But does my choice of browser matter? With Firefox being free, and not even subjecting me to advertising, how am I helping them by using it? Forgive me if this is a stupid question; the business models of the new economy sometimes makes my head spin. For example, I can intuitively understand how Google is worth money, in that I have made countless purchases based upon Google searches. And I can see how a site like IMDB is generally positive for the entertainment industry. But as far as I’m aware, nothing I’ve ever done on Facebook has affected my commerce. And the various browsers would seem to be largely bits of community service. I dunno.
I switched to qupzilla. Runs on everything (even OS/2). And it’s a LOT faster than firefox, and has AdBlock built in.
I am a bit confused, Pale Moon base platform is Mozilla FireFox, so it is just a different flavor of Mozilla. Mozilla is the company that needs to be spanked, so I would imagine that using Pale Moon or another flavor would not help the cause.
Pale Moon is created from Firefox so in essence you’re actually using Firefox but just modified.
Look at it like you were driving a kit car that was made from a VW. You would still have a VW underneath even though it didn’t look like a VW.
If you really want to not use Firefox then you should use Chrome, Opera, Safari, or (god help us) IE.
I’ve been using Chrome ever since Firefox 4.0 blew up.
BTW, I’ve seen the Gaystapo also referred to as the Kweer Klux Klan. Although I’m partial to calling them the Ku Klux Kweers.

Thanks for the Pale Moon tip! To fight the Gaystapo I switched to Opera and it was too radical a change.
Yep. Changed over to Pale Moon this weekend, and just squelched Firefox per Denny’s instructions.
Can’t tell the difference, everything all same-same, right down to the second tab opening up with the happy news that I’ve been updated to VideoDownload Helper V 4.9.22.
Every frickin’ time I open my browser. For the last three weeks. Anybody got a clue about that?

I’ve used Chrome for several years now.
Using Pale Moon is the same as using Firefox. It’s the same browser made by the same company but it’s “sold” under a different name.
If your intent is to keep Firefox from getting users then Pale Moon does not do that.

Since3 I moved to Pale Moon, my passwords moved with me. BTW Facebook is affected by that new bug so you should change that one anyway.
