Didja hear Flipper’s latest?

Wednesday at a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaarik Zafar to be special representative to Muslim communities, Secretary of State John Kerry said it was the United States’ Biblical “responsibility” to “confront climate change,” including to protect “vulnerable Muslim majority counties.”

Kerry said Scripture, in particular the Book of Genesis, make clear it is our “duty” to protect the planet and we should look at Muslim countries “with a sense of stewardship of earth,” adding, “That responsibility comes from God.”

WTF would he know about God? His religion sez not to kill babies but that doesn’t stop him from supporting abortion on demand. The only thing we should do to Mooslime countries with respect to global warming is to make them as warm as we can with some thermonuclear devices. Turn the desert to glass.

But Flipper was beat out this week by this guy whom John nominated.

Over the weekend, the Democratic nominee for Alabama’s third congressional district compared the actions of the party he’d like to oppose in Congress to those of the terror group the Islamic State.

He tweeted the following:

The greatest country on earth is being bullied from within. Actions of Republicans in congress are worse than #ISIL.

Kiss my ass you stupid asshole! The greatest country on earth actually allows you to say incredibly stupid shit like this and allows a dickhead like you to run for Congress. Here’s an idea. Why don’t we send you over to the Middle East and drop you off with those guys from ISIL and you can see just how bad Republicans are by comparison? JHFC! Assholes like you make me sick to my stomach. Even I don’t go so far as comparing Dimocrats to terrorists. When is a the last time you’ve seen a Republican behead someone? And where are the Dimocrats condemning this asshole for saying bullshit like this? Imagine the outrage if a Republican compared a Dimocrat to ISIL? One of the things I enjoy about being on Ron’s email list is his erudition. He went from a career in the Navy to a second career as a college professor. As such, he will do parodies of literary classics. I’ve done my share with my rewrites of Shakespeare speeches like the one from Henry V where I updated it to our time, but Ron does it more and does it consistently well. Here is another example where he does a rewrite of a stanza of Kublai Khan.

A damsel with a dulcimer

WASHINGTON (AP) — Remember the polar vortex, the huge mass of Arctic air that can plunge much of the U.S. into the deep freeze? You might have to get used to it.

Really? Winters are gonna get worse colder?

A new study says that as the world gets warmer, parts of North America, Europe and Asia could see more frequent and stronger visits of that cold air. Researchers say that’s because of shrinking ice in the seas off Russia.

So as the sea ice shrinks, winter will get worse?

Normally, the polar vortex is penned in the Arctic. But at times it escapes and wanders south, bringing with it a bit of Arctic super chill.

Just like it did last winter.

That can happen for several reasons,

and the new study suggests that one of them occurs when ice in northern seas shrinks, leaving more water uncovered.

What are these dudes smoking? The poles get warmer and the winters get colder. So, does that mean if the poles get colder the winters get warmer? And what about the summers? This is the coolest summer I’ve experienced here in Georgia since I moved her in 1985. I don’t think it ever got warmer than 95 degrees all summer and that’s unusual.

Normally, sea ice keeps heat energy from escaping the ocean and entering the atmosphere. When there’s less ice, more energy gets into the atmosphere and weakens the jet stream, the high-altitude river of air that usually keeps Arctic air from wandering south, said study co-author Jin-Ho Yoon of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Wash. So the cold air escapes instead.

That happened relatively infrequently in the 1990s, but since 2000 it has happened nearly every year, according to a study published Tuesday in the journal

Do you know what has happened every year since 1990? No increase in temperature. There is no global warming. It is a scam. And anyone who believes that global warming makes winters colder needs to have his head examined. Wouldn’t you think that if the polar ice was melting that the Great Lakes would melt as well? Lake Superior took longer to melt than in the last 17 years and the polar ice cap is actually expanding.

Yoon said that although his study focused on shrinking sea ice, something else was evidently responsible for last year’s chilly visit from the polar vortex.

That would be global cooling.

Remember, to the true AGW believers, AGW causes everything. We could set records for the coolest temperature on a given day during summer here in the South and it would be a result of AGW. Oh wait! We did set a record on July 14.

Just another study to try to prove that global warming exists. It doesn’t.
