As I predicted two days ago, the earliest snows on record are beginning to occur in the Carolinas.
Columbia, SC has just experienced their earliest snow in 125 years of weather records, beating the Nov. 9, 1913 earliest snow record by 8 days. Current South Carolina weather shows it’s still snowing in Greenville, SC.
The Christian Science Monitor is reporting Greenville was especially hard hit with downed trees and power outages. The Smokey Mtns received up to 16 inches overnight. The current U.S. snow cover map shows 18 states with some amount of snow this morning.
I had seen this on Saturday, but forgot where. Anyway, I was talking to my sister who lives in Columbia on Saturday and I told her about the record. She asked me where I saw it and I had already forgotten. Fortunately, reader Mike sent it to me,

We just had the mildest summer that I can remember since I moved to Georgia back in 1985. We’re talking almost 30 years. Yet, I read in the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation that the AGW folks are saying this was the hottest summer on record. I wonder where that was? It wasn’t here in Georgia.
Ask the people around the Great Lakes about how long it took for the ice to melt this Spring.
I wonder what the AGW fanatics are gonna say if we have another bad winter? No I don’t. They’ll blame it on global warming. Global warming causes everything.
summer here in Texas was not as bad either. I recall seeing a link on Accuweather or WU about April being the “Warmest ever” …. my question was the same. “Where?” The US was well below normal almost everywhere, Canada was mostly cold as well, and the folks I know in the southern hemisphere were grumbling about the cooler than normal fall, the few over the pond were also grumbling about whether spring was really going to show up.. Now it seems the numbers were “readjusted” and well hey, what do you know … seems it wasn’t such a record after all.

I was shocked to recently learn a very conservative, long time friend actually buys into the GW myth. I just didn’t know what to say other than “What?”
Though I’m not a practicing Christian, I’ve read many sacred texts, including the Bible (twice), and am reminded of Genesis 8:22 every time I hear the doomsayers chanting their “anthropogenic global warming” mantra.
That big, hot, shiny thing in the sky goes thru phases ranging from calm to violent and the entire human race can do precisely NOTHING about it, no matter its self-righteousness or white guilt or modern technology or inflated sense of importance.
Climate will change, often wildly, depending upon multiple variables, many of which mankind can do NOTHING about, such as continental drift, polar shift, and micro-glitches in the planet’s orbit, not to mention the impact of the moon’s gravitational pull on the spinning, liquid core and rather pliable crust (considering the forces involved).
Basically, as Genesis says, sometimes it’ll get hot, but that’ll be followed by cooling off; and then it’ll get warm again, only to get colder’n hell for a while; and the cycle will go on, and on, and on, and . . . . .

2. Read this AM on one of the News feed that the United Nation Globull warming experts have determined we are at a critical stage & must cease all use of fossil fuels to save the planet…….but just in the west , Guess Who?
3. Anybody spotted any wandering polar bears yet in the southern Canadian provinces or the lower 48? After all the Arctic ice pack must be just about gone & with 5 times more polar bears then 25 years ago they got to go some where?

Coolest day in South Florida for yesterday since they started to keep records.
It was 52 degrees in Ft. Lauderdale. Previous coolest day this date was 54.
First snow was on Friday, in Northern Michigan (South of Alpena). The low was 24 degrees sometime in the AM hours of Sunday morning.

Bocopro hit on it in his last paragraph; volcanoes and forest fires. There are 1500-ish active volcanoes on the planet, and 40-60 of them are erupting every year. Our very own Kilauea has been burning/erupting for nearly a quarter century. Now consider how much CO2 (among many other elements being released) those eruptions produce. The forest fires have to be an immense number also. I read that along with those two CO2 sources, decaying plant matter is the 3rd in top CO2 producers. Apparently the three combined produce an enormous amount of atmospheric CO2 dwarfing all human “fossil fuel” produced CO2. Even if CO2 were the cause of “global warming”, humans cutting their CO2 emissions by 100% would have near zero effect on the overall CO2 in the atmosphere, thus zero effect on the climate.
Curious… plants, especially, trees need to eat CO2 to exist, right?
I mean, it’s like all the bullshit about Freon – the shit’s heavier than air – yet, that was once *responsible* for burning a hole in the ozone layer, right?

AD- I ain’t bothered to do the research, but it seems to me I’ve been told and have read several times that as somebody’s patent came close to expiring on the old refrigerant and they were gonna lose their lock on the auto air conditioning market, some genius figured that if they came up with something new, they’d still be competing with generic coolant manufacturers using the old stuff. All that was necessary was to convince/bribe/buy a few “scientists”, congressmen and “reporters” and convince them that the old stuff was dangerous, and the only way to save the world was to declare it harmful, and have dot-gov regulators tell us what replacement was to be used. Funny how they got one more restriction in place, but “only for our own good” or “for the children” of course.

Nicest summer EVER in Indiana. We maybe had 3-4 days over ninety. I’ll take mid-seventies to mid-eighties with a nice breeze any day and every day.

The Siberian region of Russia has been blanketed with the largest snowfall this early since the 1960`s. Since Siberia is the incubator for winter weather of the northern Hemisphere of our continent just as Africa is the incubator for the hurricanes which head toward the United States in summer…This means a much more colder & snowy winter for Alaska, Canada & the lower 48.
Maybe Al should visit Siberia to see just what is burning which inflates Global Warming & causes Siberia to freeze earlier with more snow.
