Saturday Bach

I can’t remember if I’ve posted this before or not. It’s the allegro movement of Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto. This was the very first piece I ever heard from these guys. It was on KWMU, the local National Proletariat Radio station in St. Louis. I immediately went out and bought the album this was on. I also saw them perform it live a few years later in University City (a St. Louis suburb). I think this is the original lineup, father and three sons. The old man has passed on but his grandchildren are now in the various lineups.

  1. This is one of the first videos I heard when I came here. Until then, I thought that only Canadian pianist Glenn Gould could play the Bach Brandenburg Concerto to my satisfaction. I was so impressed by the Romeros’ rendition. What a family!
