We didn’t like the housing at the Shepherd Crip Ski Trip at Park City two years ago so My sister and BIL decided to go to Monoski Camp at Snowmass with me this year instead of going on the Shepherd trip. We were able to get them a room at the hotel at the camp rate. It’s also great since Ryan does all the driving. We made it from Atlanta to Kansas City today. I used to be able to do that, but it’s kind of a long push for me so I was glad he was driving.
I didn’t sleep worth a damn last night. I didn’t get to sleep until after 3:30 and we had to get up at 5:30 so we could get through Atlanta before the traffic hit. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast ofter getting out of Atlanta. I was able to sleep most of the way through Kentucky. As a result I’m beat, so I’m fixin’ to crash early tonight. Tomorrow’s an easier day since it will only be a 600 mile drive to Denver tomorrow. Piece of cake but it’s a boring drive though Kansas and Eastern Colorado.
Glad all’s goin’ well. Hope we get lots of good photos.
I have a friend who just got back from Colorado learning to monoski with Wounded Warriors. Lost both legs last February in Afghanistan. He sent a couple of pictures of himself flat on the snow laughing his ass off.
Do you know where he was? Challenge Aspen in Snowmass has a wounded warriors program.
Vail. One of the ski equipment companies footed the bill. When the battalion got back from deployment the CO came to see him. He gave the colonel a present. A brand new pair of running shoes he had ordered just before they left. He said ” I can’t use these anymore but they look like your size sir” Cracked up everyone. Great attitude.
