2015 Monoski Camp Trip Day 2

Got an early start and made it through Kansas City without too much of a delay. Their rush hour is nowhere near as bad as Atlanta’s. In central Kansas there is a huge wind farm. Two years ago when I drove by it only about 1/3 of the windmills were turning. The last two years, most of them have been. We also passed a huge one in Colorado that I don’t remember seeing before and for this one, very few of the windmills were in operation. My two cents? Wind is a dead end. Yesterday’s technology today. Just like streetcars.

The place we usually stay in Denver has changed hands. To stay with the same chain, and find a room, we had to go north of Denver. Fortunately, we arrived in plenty of time and didn’t have any problems finding it since there was massive road construction going on.

Tomorrow should be a nice easy and pretty drive up to Snowmass. The weather will be much better than it was last year when I drove through. It snowed most of the way and I got through the Eisenhower Tunnel before traffic got real bad.

  1. Thank you for posting. So much driving. Glad you’re having company and nice weather. We’re on cold weather alert in Toronto. High winds, no snow in the city yet, but the roads are icy and dangerous. Not traveling on the streets with my walker.

Have a good and safe day.

  2. You should have stopped at Gates & Sons BBQ in KCMO. Absolutely the best BBQ in the known universe. Try it going home. You’ll be glad that you did.
