Sore Tales

Sorry for the light posting. I’m trying to stay off my butt as much as possible so that limits me to time spent on the computer. Went to my regular doctor today and she was smart enough to call the wound clinic to find out what type of dressing to apply to the sore. The earliest I could get an appointment to the wound clinic is next Wednesday, so, until then, I’ll spend a lot of time on my back reading. Fortunately, I have a lot of unread books. Since the injury, I finished the last five books in Daniel Silva’s Gabriel Allon series. Allon is an art restorer and an assassin for Israeli intelligence. As such, he has gone after Islamic terrorists and Russian oligarchs. My sister turned me on to this series. There are 13 books in all and they are fun reads. It’s best to read them in order. The first one in the series is The Unlikely Spy.

  1. Still don’t remember which story I sent you . . . or what we were discussing that made me send it.

Was it Sacri-Fire or Monkeys and Mouses or Gelded Cage or Square One or Mind Over Mind? I know it wasn’t Residovous ’cause I ain’t finished that one yet. And I’ve been stuck on Maranko for over two years now, tryin to decide which way to go with the good versus evil — should the evil girl win or the good girl, or are they both evil, just in different ways.

Those are about the only ones I have left . . . burned all the rest of ’em. Monkeys and Mouses and Square One are fairly long, about 200 pages or 60,000+ words. The others are somewhat shorter, around 30K.

Or did I send you one of my short stories?

    Compulsive writer.

  2. Hope your butt is healed soon. And you can sit at the piano again.
Thanks for mentioning Daniel Silva and ” The Unlikely Spy”. Just read the synopsis. And it’s my type of book. I never know what to read next. Not too many intelligent books around. Or I don’t know where they are. “The Heist” looks very interesting too. But I’ll read them in order as you suggest. 13 books will keep me busy for a while!

    • I just finished it. I thought it was the 13th one. I guess I can’t count correctly. Looking forward to the next one but I guess since he’s gonna run the Office he won’t have time to restore paintings anymore.

  3. Denny, when you go to the wound clinic ask them to take special care of your friend Michael.

When they ask who Michael is tell them it’s Michael Moore, that sore on your ass.
