I read in the paper that his approval ratings are going up. Must be gas prices. And the “improving” economy. During the short time I was at Snowmass, I noticed that it wasn’t as crowded as usual. My sister affirmed that and said the lift lines were a lot shorter this year. There’s a fine example of the “improving” economy. Monoski Camp only had one participant this year: me. Everyone else canceled or didn’t enroll in the first place. If I remember correctly we had at least six people last year. Another example of the “improving” economy. The last two years have seen the least participants since I’ve been attending the camp.
And when congress shuts him down, he’ll cry and say they are not working with him and not compromising wah wah wah.

Gas, at some stations here in NJ, is at $1.65 a gallon. Top tier is still around 1.89 or so for regular.

The reason for the “increase” in the POS’s approval is NOT the economy, etc. It’s the way the polls are being conducted by the lap dog media companies. In the “olden” days, all political polls were taken by asking ONLY about 1000 people who responded that they were “registered” or “likely” voters. Those polls are much accurate as a barometer to how the POS is actually doing but also much more expensive since they have to call many more people to find those types who of Americans who actually care. The cheaper way, which is the way they’re doing it now to attempt to show Obozo is getting more popular, is to simply ask 1000 “adults”.
Fox News still uses only likely voters for their political polls, and Obama’s numbers have not increased.

Naw Denny, IF – there is any surge in the Obungler’s popularity it won’t be because of “Gas Prices” – It’s just “Gas” coming outta’ both ends of a brain-dead loyal Dim-O supporter. However, gasoline prices here in my Central Ohio town are currently as low as $1.89 a gallon. They were at $ 1.76 a week ago. I heard today that it’s less than $1.60 in Cleveland and Toledo.

I forgot about the SOTU, wasn’t going to watch it anyway, and I turned on my TV a 7:00 to watch Jeopardy!, and found The Ayatollah babbling on about how great he is and all the other bullshit he was peddling. Biden was sitting back there eating that shit up, while Boehner looked like he wished he was somewhere, anywhere, else. All in all, it pissed me off that Jeopardy! was preempted by this blathering that will be largely forgotten (read “ignored”) by just about everyone in the country.
There was a STOU? Huh? Dam I missed it. Oh well. I’m paying $1.99 here in Washington. I’m just glad that fuel prices are going down. I could care less what that dam monkey in the house is doing (or not). I’ve got enough issues to deal with on my own. The sooner that yard ape and his chimps are outta the house the better.

There are other prime indicators showing our “improved economy” that I find alarming. I’m on the mailing list for James G Murphy Auctioneers, in the Seattle area. They dispose of heavy equipment, small and large businesses, etc.
Every month the list gets longer for businesses going out of business. Sawmills, woodworking plants, printing firms, metal working firms. Yannow, 250 peeps, here; 150 peeps there; pretty soon we’re talking REAL numbers. All these failing businesses fan out to customers and suppliers, they say by a factor of between 5 to 10. (Was it James Farley who said, “A few thousand her; a few thousand there, and pretty soon we’re talking real money”.)
To borrow your favorite expression, how long are the ‘booger-eating moh-rons’ going to keep swallowing the lies and fabricated numbers, when all one has to do is look around and see the obvious?

The economy is not improving. No matter what lies we are being constantly told. The evidence is all around us and in our faces. Your readers know this. and have pointed out one example after another. Sometime in the spring I suspect things will really get ugly and no amount of lying by the media will be able to cover it up. Things are going to get ugly soon.
I would have thought that lower fuel prices would result in lower grocery prices…nope. And maybe lower airfare prices…nope. And maybe lower prices at the home improvement stores…nope. But, in a few months when fuel prices start climbing again, watch the prices of everything go up as well.

Actually, it was worth watching. Essentially, the SOTU theater all boiled down to Barry Soetoro, providing issuance of license to the Republican leadership in the House and Senate to ignore their platform, principles, and most importantly, the Party base. It’s not as if the Republican leadership have not done this prior to the SOTU but, this time Barry Soetoro, approves their actions.
