Great Master Bathroom of Dunwoody Update

Today starts Week 5 of the project. The glass dude came by this morning and took all the measurements for the frameless shower door. As he left I asked him how long it will take for that. He said, “In about a week.” So it’s fer sure that the project will have a Week 6. Hopefully the plumber will come by and install all of the faucets and stuff this week. With the counter-tops all in there should be nothing stopping that. I did say that the lighting fixtures have to be special ordered didn’t I? You would think that would have been done, especially since planning on this project went all the way back to August. So far, everything looks beautiful. Unfortunately. this project has gone on much too long. A three week project has expanded into a six week (at least) project. This has pretty much guaranteed that I won’t use this company for any other home improvement projects.

Update: The project manager just called and said the guy who was supposed to come today to do the plumbing and other stuff like grab bars and towel bars called in sick. Someone else is supposed to show up tomorrow to do that. The painter is scheduled to come back tomorrow for touch-up work. The light at the end of the tunnel keeps turning into a train heading towards me.

  1. I didn’t realize you could hire the government to do home improvement projects.

Is there still time to start a betting pool as to when the job will finish? Ah, who am I kidding, of course there is.

Folks, you have two weeks to get your bets in.

  2. I hate to tell ya this, Denny, but the train you see is a coal-powered locomotive and Obumbler won’t let it have enough fuel to get to your station.

And, there is what lie behind most every business owner’s troubles from today’s pool of effete, self-esteem indoctrinated workforce to draw from. Yannow, it was not that long ago that I remember dragging my ass into work when not feeling good because if I wasn’t out there making money, then my boss didn’t make any money, and when the boss doesn’t make money – we all are fucked. I may have been fortunate with having good health but, I can only recall two times being “sick”. Once, was being sent home by the boss when having the flu, the other resulting in an ER visit to the hospital. I also grew up in my family’s construction business under the same standard, which I placed upon myself when I chose to go work in design at one of the Big Three. Long story short, it was decided the construction business went away and the assets in pocketed because it was too much of a pain in the ass finding good employees. It only snowballed when coordinating jobs with others involved in projects.
