Red Bluff >> A Corning woman was arrested Sunday after she reportedly drove a stolen van to the Tehama County Jail to visit her husband, who had been arrested earlier in the week for suspicion of stealing a vehicle.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Tehama County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Northern California Child Development, Inc. on Antelope Boulevard for the report of a burglary and a stolen vehicle, according to a department press release.
They keys to the stolen van had been inside the business.
Deputies took a report, collected evidence and placed a “be on the lookout” for the stolen vehicle.
Around 7:30 p.m. the stolen van was spotted near the Tehama County Jail.
Deputies watched the stolen van when a woman approached.
The woman pulled out keys and started the vehicle.
Deputies then took 41-year-old Michelle Marie Noland, also known by the last name Collins, into custody.
During an inventory of the vehicle, items from the burglary of the NCCDI building were located.
Deputies learned Noland had been at the jail visiting her husband, who had been arrested earlier in the week for suspicion of vehicle theft burglary and attempting to run from the police in a stolen vehicle.
Sheriff’s logs show Cody Ray Noland, 45, of Corning was arrested Wednesday in Rancho Tehama on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and evading a peace officer.
Michelle Noland was arrested for suspicion of burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of multiple prescription medications. She had 45 Methadone tablets without a prescription, according to the press release. Her bail was $45,000.
Both Nolands were arrested together in September and are awaiting a Jan. 12 court hearings on drug and gun charges.
According to court records Michelle also pled not guilty to separate charges grand theft, identify theft and second-degree commercial burglary.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Driving a stolen vehicle to visit her husband in jail.
She didn’t think that one all the way through…
Lady down the street went to visit her husband in jail on drug charges. The sheriffs searched her purse . They found the drugs that she was trying to smuggle into her husband. They arrested her in the main lobby of the Sheriffs office!
Suburb of Oklahoma City, guy was in jail for driving with a suspended license. Friends came bail him out, did all the paperwork, were told to have a seat out front(very nice evening) and they’d have him out in a few minutes.
Dispatcher took a moment to step outside for a break, came back in and sent an officer out front. The three were sharing a joint while they waited.
If I was mean, I’d say she was in the right side of the curve when it comes to Tehama County residents, IQ-wise.
These are the kind of people that need to get the “Old Yeller” treatment because they’re just too stupid to live.
I’m with Ralph on this one, it’s high time to cull the herd! You take away the need to be smart enough to provide for you and your family and even the most stupid are reproducing!
