Of course there is a double standard in America. You must of heard about the black Kentucky player calling a white Wisconsin player a “nigga” at a post game press conference after Wisconsin defeated Kentucky. His exact words: “Fuck that nigga.” Ho hum. Nothing to see here. Move along. He apologized. Everything’s OK. Just imagine the reverse if the white Wisconsin player had said that. Toejam did and here are his comments about that.
Can you imagine the outrage if Kaminsky had called Harrison a Nigger? He would have immediately been kicked off the team and most likely expelled from college. His future would be down the toilet and his only hope would be going into polities as a liberal. Counselors would have been called in to offer support to the hundreds of Black students at both schools that were offended.
Actually, every white member of Wisconsin’s team (and they are prolly the whitest squad in the NCAA tournament) would have had to attend a Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) Awareness class.
All it took was a call from Harrison to Kaminsky to apologize and everything is cool. You know, that’s the way it should be, white or black, shake hands and go on about your lives.
But it can’t be because of “white privilege” and Slavery®.
But, if the White guy had said it, it would be 24/7 news and you can bet your life Al Sharpton would be involved by now and riots would erupt.
Not only Al Tawana Brawley Crown Heights Riots Freddie’s Fashion Mart Arson Sharpton, but Eric My People Holder, the Congressional Black Caucus, and, of course, Obungler would have weighed in on this blatant racism. We would have had to endure at least a week long lecture about racism in America. Not only would the white dude have had to apologize to the black dude, but he would have had to go on television and issue multiple tearful apologies. We would be barraged with stories about how racist a school Wisconsin was because of the lack of Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) on its basketball team (meaning not enough black starters).
GO BUCKY!!
I went to UW as did my wife and youngest daughter. Proud to be Badgers and the way our teams handle themselves. Our coaches do not develop thugs for one year before they go on to the ThugBA. Our coaches develop a person, a good person. Admission standards at UW are not as easy for athletes as at churning schools such at Kentucky, a school that brings kids in for the purpose of having a team of incredible athletic talent but very little future in an otherwise career.
Our last football coach was short lived – he quit because the admission standards were so high he could not recruit the thugs who couldn’t pass basket weaving 101. Fine by me – I’d rather have a good person playing than a thug, any day.
Last night not one fire was set in Madison nor was one car overturned. The city celebrated a fantastic accomplishment with a fantastic group of young men and coach.
Okay, Madison has its downfalls in that it is the Berkeley of the Midwest, but I forgive them for that considering how the team performed. I no longer live there and wouldn’t move back, but I love the teams.
