The challenge of effectively running a huge, clunky corporation is presumably similar to the challenge of effectively running a huge, clunky government. Anyone reading this knows that the layoff count in isolation is not a meaningful measure of success. But I’d had the impression that Fiorina’s stewardship of HP was considered overall to be less than successful. Can anyone offer an objective summary of how well her HP adventure worked out, and who to credit or blame?
