George sent me an email about what happened eight hundred years ago on June 15, 1215. The Magna Carta was signed by King John of England. What this momentous documanet said was that there was a rule of law and the King could not just make up stuff as he went along and rule by whim. It was the birth of democracy among the English speaking people. He also sent me an excellent article from the Wall Street Journal.

Eight hundred years ago next month, on a reedy stretch of riverbank in southern England, the most important bargain in the history of the human race was struck. I realize that’s a big claim, but in this case, only superlatives will do. As Lord Denning, the most celebrated modern British jurist put it, Magna Carta was “the greatest constitutional document of all time, the foundation of the freedom of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot.”

It was at Runnymede, on June 15, 1215, that the idea of the law standing above the government first took contractual form. King John accepted that he would no longer get to make the rules up as he went along. From that acceptance flowed, ultimately, all the rights and freedoms that we now take for granted: uncensored newspapers, security of property, equality before the law, habeas corpus, regular elections, sanctity of contract, jury trials.

And now, we appear to be throwing away these freedoms as we have a ruler who changes laws as he sees fit and we have an opposition party filled with spineless men who allow him to do that for fear of being labeled “racist” or “obstructionist”. We also have a complicit media which stands by and does nothing while this is going on and is even in favor of this misuse of power because the media is essentially the propaganda arm of the ruler’s party. One morning these “journalists” will wake up and find out they are no longer free to write any dissenting opinion. They will have given up these freedoms.

What about the Supreme Court? What about it? They approved a massive power grab by the federal gummint in declaring Obummercare constitutional. And it was a “conservative” justice who cast the deciding vote. It makes me wonder exactly what the Dimocrats have on Roberts? As for this latest suit before the Court about Obummercare subsidies? No worry. I’m sure Roberts will rescue Obummercare on that as well. The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation had some sob stories of people getting Obummercare subsidies in Sunday’s paper. Boo hoo! Heartless Republicans. They want to take away their Obummercare. Yada. Yada. Yada. Blah. Blah. Blah.

As I wrote to Ron in an email last week, Obungler is showing a future president just how easy it could be to become a dictator just like Marius and Sulla showed Caesar. Caesar, by the way, even though he was of the nobility, was a member of the Populist Party. He was a champion of the lower classes. Sound familiar? The liberals progressives rat bastard commies have taken over the schools and the media. They have succeeded in corrupting organizations like the churches and the Boy Scouts All that’s left is the military and they are working on that. If they can get enough ass-kissing high ranking officers to go along who would stop a major power grab? The rank and file soldiers? Would they fire on citizens? AlphaDelta pointed out to me that they already did after WWI when veterans marched on Washington demanding their promised benefits.

The fact that we have someone as corrupt as Thunder Rodent Thighs running for president when she should be in jail is scary. The fact that we have women who think she is a feminist icon when she enabled her philandering husband and even worked to destroy the victims of his harassment show just how dumb the American female voter has become, not that the male voter is all that smarter than the female. More Americans could prolly tell you who the finalists are on American Idol rather than knowing the three branches of gummint or who their representive is in the House and their two senators. I still stand by my prediction that within the next thirty to fifty years we will become a socialist dictatorship. Obumbler is showing a future president just how easy it will be. Just keep the bread and circuses coming and don’t worry about the spineless members of the Stupid Party. They will continue to run losers like McRINO and Mittens. The New York Slimes (Motto: All the news that is fit to distort) and the rest of the LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party will take care of them. What a lot of these useful idiots don’t realize is that when the socialist dictatorship comes to pass they will be some of the first people purged. And the socialist billionaires will have their money confiscated for the good of the state. How can they be smart enough to become billionaires and so stupid as to not realize they’ll lose everything in the socialist utopia?

The Magna Carta had a good run. Our Constitution did as well. Alas, the end is near. Fortunately, I will prolly be dead when that happens and won’t be around to say, “T told you so.” I know a few people I would love to say that to.

Update: I knew we were done as a country when Jane Fonda was not arrested, tried for treason, convicted, and stood up against a wall and shot. I was in Viet Nam many times, off the coast when I was on the Comstock (LSD-19) and on the beach when I was on the Iredell County (LST-839). We even went about fifty miles up the Bassac River twice to supply station ships supporting PBRs. These were the boats on the rivers unlike Flipper’s swift boat which stayed on the coast. When he said he went up river to Cambodia he was lying through his teeth. My fellow sailors and the grunts I talked to all said the same thing, “Why don’t we take the gloves off and win this fucking war?” The Tet campaign was a disaster for the enemy, but we had Walter (the most trusted man in America) Cronkite tell everyone that the war was lost. It didn’t surprise me after he retired when it turned out that he was a liberal progressive socialist rat bastard commie. The last war that the LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party wanted us to win was WWII. That goes for Hollywood as well.

And now look! They just named a Navy ship after Gabby Giffords. WTF? She got shot by a lunatic and that’s a reason to name a ship after her?

Now I know there are gonna be a lot of WTFs over this. Yeah. I know Shania Twain is definitely not metal but the intro to this song from the finale of her Vegas show kicks ass! If you only heard the first two minutes and forty-five seconds of this there is no way you would think this would turn out to be a C&W song. Of course, she became a cross over artist after she met Mutt Lange and he produced her album Come on Over. Lange produced two AC/DC albums. He also produced five Def Leppard albums and cowrote some of the songs. He did the same on Come on Over which catapulted Shania Twain into a major star. He infused a lot of rock elements into this album. He married her. Unfortunately, he got caught banging her best friend which ended that marriage.

I caught this show on AXS. It was really good. She worked her butt off. Her Vegas gig was the first time she had performed live in ten years. The blonde backup singer is her little sister. Shania looks really good for 48. MILF. Whoever colored her hair should be fired. She looks so much better with her natural hair color.

A beautiful cantata. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Bach sounds so good on the guitar.

And as a bonus, another beautiful cantata. There are a few flubs where he doesn’t play some notes quite as cleanly as he should, but then he isn’t a John Williams or a Julian Bream.

CALIFORNIA PROFESSORS INSTRUCTED NOT TO SAY ‘AMERICA IS THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY’

That’s one of several phrases deemed a ‘microaggression’ at faculty leader training sessions initiated by University of California President Janet Napolitano

“America is the land of opportunity,” “There is only one race, the human race” and “I believe the most qualified person should get the job” are among a long list of alleged microaggressions faculty leaders of the University of California system have been instructed not to say.

These so-called microaggressions – considered examples of subconscious racism – were presented at faculty leader training sessions held throughout the 2014-15 school year at nine of the 10 UC campuses. The sessions, an initiative of UC President Janet Napolitano, aim to teach how to avoid offending students and peers, as well as how to hire a more diverse faculty.

WTF? What is going on? You can’t say America is the land of opportunity? JHFC! We’ve been saying that for years. That’s why so many people came to America because it was the land of opportunity. People are still coming here but now we have some idiot saying that’s racist? We know that “the most qualified person should get the job” must be obviously racist since that would go against Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) because everyone knows that a person’s race, gender, or sexual tendencies are more important than competence. Yannow what? I’ll bet MLK would prolly be branded a racist by saying that people should be judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin. Now it’s all about skin color.

Other sayings deemed unacceptable include:

● “Where are you from or where were you born?”

● “Affirmative action is racist.”

● “When I look at you, I don’t see color.”

Oh noes! New York is having a hard time finding Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) hires. In other words, they are having a hard time hiring black people since Diversity (All Hail Diversity!) is simply the new name for affirmative action. (Thanks to Scott for this story.)

New York police commissioner says bringing more non-white officers into force is challenging because many African American men have criminal records

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Originally, I thought this was gonna be a story about how blacks couldn’t pass the entrance exam so they had to simplify it. That’s what usually happens when a company can not find blacks who qualify. That happened to IBM back in the 70’s when they had to quit giving aptitude tests because they amounted to discrimination. The discrimination being against people who couldn’t qualify for the job. I’ve recounted the story about when I attended FE Basic in 1978 we had three people who flunked out in the first six weeks. one was black, one was Vietnamese, and one was a woman. All three would have flunked an aptitude test, the black and the female because they had no knowledge of electronics or aptitude for data processing and the Vietnamese dude because he had a language problem. All three were affirmative action hires.

“We have a significant population gap among African American males because so many of them have spent time in jail and, as such, we can’t hire them,” Bratton said in an interview with the Guardian.

Police departments, responding to widespread protests against several high-profile police killings of black men, are boosting efforts to recruit more non-white officers. But budget restrictions, strained relations between police and minority communities and, according to Bratton, a history of indiscriminate policing tactics that disproportionately target black and Latino men complicate the department’s goal of racial parity.

Bratton blamed the “unfortunate consequences” of an explosion in “stop, question and frisk” incidents that caught many young men of color in the net by resulting in them being given a summons for a minor misdemeanor. As a result, Bratton said, the “population pool [of eligible non-white officers] is much smaller than it might ordinarily have been”.

Yep! Blame the “stop and frisk” policy, not the fact that so many black men are criminals.

The application process to join the NYPD includes, among other things, a complete criminal background check.

How dare they run background checks. Right off that bat that discriminates against black dudes. Racists!

Convicted felons are automatically disqualified from the NYPD applicant pool, as well as anyone guilty of a domestic violence charge or who has been dishonorably discharged from the military.

Summonses, however, do not automatically disqualify a candidate, though they are taken into account during the application process. For example, a summons for disorderly conduct would not preclude a candidate from being accepted into the force, but repeated convictions for an offense that demonstrates “disrespect for the law” could result in disqualification.

Yeah! They should wait until they become cops before showing “disrespect for the law”.

The controversial stop-and-frisk policy was struck down in 2013 by a federal judge, who called the practice a “policy of indirect racial profiling”. Judge Shira A Scheindlin found that the program led officers to routinely stop “blacks and Hispanics who would not have been stopped if they were white”.

But see, the reason they targeted blacks and Hispanics was that the majority of crimes are committed by blacks and Hispanics. For example, in the last ten years in St. Louis blacks have committed over 80% of the violent crimes while only making up about 50% of the population. And I know liberals will refuse to admit it but stop and frisk actually cut the crime rate in New York City. Look at how crime is rising in New York right now.

But critics say Bratton – who helped shrink the widespread use of stop-and-frisk -is partly, if not ultimately, responsible for the relative paucity of eligible non-white recruits.

“It is a net that he set out for them,” said Rochelle Bilal, vice-chair of the National Black Police Association and a former Philadelphia police officer. “If [Bratton] didn’t stop people for nothing, he might have a bigger pool to hire from.”

And more crooked cops right off the bat. Why wait for them to get corrupt when you can hire them that way?

Despite his repudiation of stop-and-frisk, Bratton still believes broken windows policing – a crime-fighting strategy of enforcing low-level crimes to stop offenders from committing more serious ones in the future – is indispensable to keeping the city safe.

It worked under Giuliani and Bloomberg. DeBlasio is bringing back the bad old days under Dinkins.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the liberals forced the NTPD to quit doing background checks so they will be able to hire more blacks. After all, nothing is more important than Diversity (All Hail Diversity!).
