STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — The Atlanta chapter of the NAACP officially called for the elimination of all symbols of the Confederacy from Stone Mountain.
This comes on the heels of the removal of the Confederate battle flag from the South Carolina State House.
NAACP’s Richard Rose says the time to move is now, but admits it may be a steep slope to climb.
But that won’t deter them. They never stop.
Shackelford, who was chaperoning a group of children from Cobb County on a trip to Stone Mountain.
“When I’m out here, and I have to be honest, when I’m out here enjoying Stone Mountain, I’m thinking about what it has to offer for what I’m coming for,” Shackelford said.
If you don’t like what it has to offer, don’t come. It’s as simple as that.

The organization issued a statement calling for the removal of all symbols of the Confederacy from the park.
“My tax dollars should not be used to commemorate slavery,” Rose said.
And my tax dollars shouldn’t be used to support welfare leeches and parasites who don’t take reswponsibility for their actions. GFY!
Rose said his group wants Confederate symbols removed from all state-owned buildings, parks and lands.
Rose told Petersen he would start with Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.
“Those guys need to go. They can be sand-blasted off, or somebody could carefully remove a slab of that and auction it off to the highest bidder,” Rose said.
Yep! As I said yesterday, it’s the Black Taliban. Mooselimes demolish things from previous civilizations because they consider them an affront to Islam. The Black Taliban is offended by symbols of southern civilization so they must be destroyed as well. They never stop.
Shackelford said she is all for a discussion as long as it’s not based on emotion.
“We have to look at history. We have to look at how it’s affecting all people. That’s my view. We are an organization of many faces. So, we always want to consider our total community,”Shackelford said.
A spokesman for Stone Mountain Park said any removal of the Confederate flags or monuments is up to the Georgia Legislature.
And hopefully they will save the monument, but the Black Taliban is relentless and it will never stop until we finally say, “Enough!”

This is called dragging The South into the 21st century. These men were traitors against the United States of America. They should not be honored. They should be reviled. This is the United States of America. You may want to leave the union, but until you do, the Confederacy should not be revered and celebrated. They committed repeated acts of treason against their country. Against OUR country. They are unworthy of public honor and celebration. Certainly our tax dollars should not be paying for that.
It was many things, but it was not treason. Treason is a citizens action to help a foreign government make war against, or overthrow. The Civil War was not that. It was fought to decide one question whether a state has the right to secede. The cause of their secession was slavery which I detest. A lot of Lincoln’s actions were unconstitutional. We also need to remember that he was more concerned with preserving the than with freeing the slaves. The correct answer was some where in the middle. The people who imported the slaves saved them from near certain death, and a horrible one at that. In that respect, they owed them a debt which they were obligated to pay. Slavery should not have been made perpetual though. The children of slaves should have been free men, and after a term of years, the slaves too should have been freed. At that point they should have been offered the choice of remaining here, returning to Africa, or some other location like Jamaica. The problem with them returning to Africa is that the legions of mooslimes would have captured them again, and either killed them for sport, or sold them back into slavery.
And George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and the rest of the leaders of the American Revolution committed treason against England. You don’t destroy monuments and rewrite history. The South doesn’t need to be dragged into the 20th Century, thank you. Large parts of the South are doing quite well, certainly better than liberal strongholds like California and Illinois.
You wanna talk about treason? Howza ’bout Jane Fonda? Now there is someone guilty of treason who shoulde be reviled. She should have been arrested, put on trial, found guilty, and lined up against a wall and shot.

In Berlin there are many monuments to communism and also the Russian capture of the city in 1945. Its been many years since the Ruskies and commies got kicked out but the monuments are still there. Why? Because the Germans recognize that its part of their history, good or bad.
You can’t just airbrush the bits of history from your nation that you don’t like. To do so is to deny the past and diminish your nation.

Ok, if we are removing historical figures from monuments and government held lands, I want all statues, quotes, images, and what-have-you of say… Martian Luther King, Jr and all other blacks removed as well.
In essence, to deny the past is to have it repeated. Slavery happened and was abolished 150 years ago. No blacks who were born in the US since then have ever been unwilling slaves. They have all been free to succeed or fail on their own terms.
As far as persecuted remains, my family is Irish, Catholic, part Amerind, Amish, and a whole lot of other national origins in the mix. Everyone has been persecuted at one time or another, get over yourselves.

What’s next? Their demand that Cook, Jeff Davis, Stephens, and Toombs Counties be renamed? Not like doing so would ever satisfy these ignorant, history- and heritage-erasing freaks. Even digging up the bones of every one of our ancestors whose headstone has “CSA” carved into it and re-interring them on Pluto couldn’t accomplish that.
I like Rusty’s idea of reverse secession. Perhaps if three-fourths of the states say adios to any other, we abolish its seats in Congress and replace them with a foreign embassy.
