Lumpy, a long time reader and commenter on this blog, has fallen on hard times due to a job loss and injury. He’s asking for help. Don’t try to tell him that the Great Recession is over. The Obungler recovery is a sham and if a Republican were president, the LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party would be telling us that.
The Great Recession has only just begun. And will only get worse. I feel for your reader but I to may soon be unemployed and looking for anything to keep on making money. If we had a conservative Republican president in office you are right the media would be screaming pure bloody murder. As it is we have to listen to nonstop propaganda about a recovery and how great and wonderful president Obama is. What a sad joke this is. God Bless your reader, I pray for him and this country.
Breaks my heart. I donated and I feel bad for this person. There are millions of capable people in the USA that have been beat to death financially by the comrade in chief and his f’n blatant dismantling of the way of life we were used to. With, some help from his big supporters such as the GE president Jack something or other that moved thousands of jobs to the commies in China. GE is one of many and it has been going on for years but Barry O hastened the pace.
God bless you and thank you Denny. Our family greatly appreciates it.
I gotta tell you, it’ one thing to observe the Obama economy’s effect on the poor when one is making six figures a year, but something else entirely to no have to struggle through the government hand holding you down. I am and have always been a big supporter of charity, having personally given over $100k to friends, family, and strangers I have come across over the course of my life. I’ve also staunchly opposed government “benefits” (read theft through threat of violence) which is why I refuse to get on said “benefits” and ask for help from my fellow Americans instead.
You wouldn’t believe the pressure folks have placed on us to get food stamps and the like. They are puzzled, and often visibly irritated, by my staunch refusal to get on government programs saying things like, “you paid for it, you may as well use it” and “do it for you kids.” Well, first, I didn’t pay for it, I had it stolen from me. When I lived in Taxifornia, I was in the %33 Federal tax bracket and %11 sate tax bracket. It’s frustrating to have so much taken from you “for your own good” but can only use it when you’re sitting on your ass pushing out babies and whatnot. People honestly can’t comprehend my stand on principle to not validate these programs.
It pisses me off to no end when I’m told that I have to think of my kids first and put my principles aside. Well, I am thinking of my kids first. I refuse to steal from their future supporting a system that is making it hard enough for me to find employment now, but will also make it ever difficult for them when they reach the ages of working toward their careers 20 years from now. I may be one person and, as such, not really making a difference in the way things are, but to make myself a hypocrite completely invalidates my message of what said system is doing to the economy ad destroying opportunity. I guess I hope by living through example, maybe (just maybe) I can show others it ca be done and possibly influence future generations by my example. It’s lofty thinking, but a man can dream, right?
Because of the small, judgmental town I live in, I am unable to post the medical specifics. I am more comfortable talking about it here as a result. My wife has had medical issues for quite a while but no doctor could seem to identify what was the cause. She had periods where she could not hold down food or water, recurring migraines, loss of appetite, loss of energy, etc. About two months ago she started having gut wrenching pain in her stomach; one night in particular being bad enough to have to take her to the ER. They discovered two things: 1.) She was pregnant (despite using contraception since we are in no position to have another child) and 2.) she had a tumor in her uterus. We’re both very pro-life (though we have always made exception for life of mother type scenarios such as the one we have found ourselves in) and we’re trying our damndest to save both my wife and our child. Because of our town being the way it is, and many towns like it, the fact that if we cannot save both may result in the termination of her pregnancy in order to save her life. Knowing our community, and communities like it around here, we’d become pariahs for ever considering it. I guess the preferred outcome is to let them both die (or my wife die) so long as we just prayed rather than make the difficult choice of saving my wife versus losing them both or me left raising three kids without their mother.
This situation accounts for a large portion of what we are asking. When we first found out, the medical solution was surgical and generally safe for mother and child, but since we cannot afford the surgery, much less to get her to the doctor to monitor the situation, we’re afraid for the worst since the tumor is robbing nutrients from our child and doing God knows what else to it. As such, both are on borrowed time the longer it is taking us to get the care they both need. She’s three months pregnant, 98 lbs, and looks like death.
I wish so much I can explain her health situation in the gofundme campaign, but our local communities are so judgmental and lack critical thinking that we simply can’t. Since I know most, if not all of you, are not from here, I am comfortable explaining the situation and, if you share our campaign on social media, am also comfortable with you explaining it to your friends and family so they know we’re not just making generic claims to get a big “payday” under the guise of charity – something of which some are already accusing us. I gotta tell you, it sucks to live in a narrow minded community lacking in critical thought.
All that said, I thank each of you who have already contributed, whether through donation or taking the time to share our campaign (or both). From the bottom of our hearts, we greatly appreciate you all here at GOC central.
God bless.
