Well if you grabbed hold of the steering wheel as posted your arms would be crossed . Very difficult to drive that way but speaking from experience in my younger days , when you are really drunk it does seem somewhat comfortable.
Well, dud, it was before the days of cellphone cameras and video so there probably aren’t pictures, but I can remember folks (not myself, of course) standing with upper body through sunroof of VW Beetle. Seemed really hard to reach down and steer, so that was sometimes (almost) accomplished with one’s knees, but then you might need a buddy to operate the gas pedal. Shifting was easy, as on those cars using the clutch was mostly optional. If some poor fool was drivin’ that way, it could be downright dangerous to have to look down to read that steering wheel cover.
