The Answer

this is why

Yet they have great salaries, great health care, and fantastic pensions. They have nice things. The laws they pass do not apply to them. This is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned when they wrote the Constitution. They tried to prevent it no avail. Even they didn’t anticipate the corruption and the venality of the political class and the judiciary. I still wonder what the Dimocrats had on Roberts to get him to support Obummercare.

Prolly the best thing that could happen to to this country would be for a nuke to take out Washington DC when Congress was in session and the president and the VP were in town. Not only would it take out the politicians, but also the bureaucracies that have crippled this country since 1970. Goodbye EPA! Thanks Nixon!

Compare how long it took to build the Golden Gate Bridge with how long it took to build the new eastern approach to the Oakland Bay Bridge. I wonder how long it would take to build Hoover Dam today? It came in under budget and ahead of schedule. That would be impossible today.

The federal gummint – Roadblock to progress.

  1. That fat guy with the really weird haircut thinks he has one. What I don’t get is why he needs to destroy Washington DC when we pretty much did that ourselves? Well, not ME, but, you know, those liberal idiots.

  2. This is spot on. Thanks to D.C., the rich AND the poor have nicer things than hard working, tax-paying, middle class schmucks like me.

I know family members, friends, and neighbors who earn half of what our household makes who took a nice Spring Break vacation while we had to keep working right through it to subsidize theirs.

    A storm is coming . . .

    • The storm cannot come soon enough for me. The Hoover Dam would not be built in this day and age. They would find some species of fish or plant that would need to be protected and block the building of the dam. If they actually tried to build it, the dam would come in way over budget and many years to late and then have serious flaws in its structure. That’s how its done today.

    • Our poor have iPhones and flat screen TVs with either satellite or cable. If you put together all of the people on the planet, our poor are in the top 1%. That’s why I would like to give some of these black activists and whiners a one way ticket to the African country of their choice. Within a week they would find out just how well they had it in the United States. Our social safety net has become a hammock.

Our tax system should be modified so that only tax payers should be allowed to vote. We are at the point where almost half of the people in this country pay no taxes. Politicians of both parties would like to see it where over half pay no taxes. When that happens, this country is lost. We will be well on our way to becoming a banana republic. Within the next 30 years.

  3. One other advantage of the nuclear approach would be if the warhead was big enough to take out everything out to the beltway. That way it would get most of the lobbyists too.

  4. Ben Franklin at the Constitutional Convention suggesting that federal elected officials not be paid:
“Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. place before the eyes of such men a post of honour that shall at the same time be a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it.”

    • Aw, come on now, Art, you mean them-there elected officials would be reduced to livin’ on just the graft and under-the-table money they’d make? How cruel.

      • Inbredredneck:
I can’t disagree with your comment, but Franklin’s comment gives a sense of how well they understood human nature.
The left is constantly denigrating them but I have a computer file full of their words that lead me to believe that our Founders were the wisest people in history.
Virtually everything that we struggle with today was addressed by them.

        • Because the right always so easily retreats from the left.

It’s not nice, however, again, I will state that conservatives are pussies.

          • Yep! They are. They are afraid of Obungler and they are afraid of the LSM. Isn’t it amazing that they are fighting harder against Trump than they did against Obumbler?

        • Art- I’m with you. Bein’ as how I only have dial up internet I have plenty of time while waitin’ for Denny’s Saturday cuties to download, and for times like that I keep a copy of the Federalist Papers by the computer to peruse at my leisure. If the Founders came back today, they’d probably spend the first few days cryin’ over what’s become of this Country, then the next week kickin’ the asses of most of the knaves and fools in DC.
AD- just ’cause we’re supposed to believe those are “conservatives” don’t mean we have to go along with ’em. Pussies ain’t a strong enough word for them taint ticklers.

        • They should have put term limits and a line item veto in the Constitution. Unfortunately, politicians would have prolly amended the Constitution to change that just like they changed the way senators are elected. A big mistake. Now, the Constitution is turning into just a piece of paper. The Republican Congress is afraid to fight Obungler on his unconstitutional actions for fear of being called racists. The race card is very powerful. Look at how much power just 13% of the population is.

  5. Inbredredneck: You should spend some of that time with the anti-Federalist papers. Federalist/anti-Federalist makes it sound as if they were in conflict.
The Federalist and the Anti-federalists were in total agreement in principle. The disagreement was in execution. They both agreed that in a country this large too much power in Washington would result in tyranny.
The Federalists thought that the Constitution was enough to constrain government. The Anti-federalist said no, we need a bill of rights to protect us against an overreaching government.
Proof of this is that the Anti-federalists allowed the Constitution to seek ratification on the promise to add a bill of rights as the first order of business. If they did not agree, that would have been an empty promise.
To a man they saw government as necessary evil. The constitution was not written to deal with societal evolution it was written to control government power.
Unfortunately since we no longer teach American history, and what we do teach is corrupted, no one understands that on this subject there was total agreement.

    • You’re right. The reason for the Bill of Rights was to say what gummint couldn’t do, like limit speech. That right is slowly being taken away by defining certain speech as “hate speech” and prohibiting the use of certain words like “nigger”. Madison cries. The Second Amendment is being subverted. What part of “shall not be infringed” is not clear. The Supreme Court is slowly but surely taking this right away from us. Gun licenses are unconstitutional. Thunder Rodent Thighs is now proposing a tax on firearms. Madison sobs! We are losing our country right before our eyes and we are doing nothing about it. We’re doomed!

      • My wife and I have just been discussin’ this. Biggest problem is that we think in the terms we learned in school and our other reading where government is concerned, whereas now it’s all about politics, not the Constitution. I’d like to believe that if we did away with the Dems/Repubs we’d be fine, but I know better. We’ve grown such a huge class of power-hungry leeches surrounding our institutions of dot-gov that they’d all just change the names to Skunks/Buzzards and still feed off the flesh of the workers and voters and still stink just as bad.
