I long ago realized that if I have to pay a kid 10 bucks an hour to mow my stinking lawn, it would be better and cheaper for me to get off of my fat ass and do it myself. Mutiply that by a few million kids and they have no future as they have priced themselves out of the market. The question is, “What to you do with kids or folks of whom their labor is of no worth at all?” We are comming to a bad conclusion with all of this…
I see Bernie’s face but I hear the voice of VP Biden. I wouldn’t surprise me to have ol’ Slow Joe say exactly that in a campaign speech somewhere. Saddenst thing about it is, he’d probably get applause.
Probably more like triple, since the business will pay more in social security ‘donations’, more in unemployment insurance, more in medical insurance premiums, probably have to start paying litigation insurance (to help ward off costs of being sued when they fire someone), etc. The list is probably endless.
At $15.00 per hour employers will be able to get college grads to do the work. Not STEM grads, but surely Gay/transgender/ liberation/ studies grads. Soon over half the jobs in the country will be “Under the table”.
