I read in the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation this morning that we are gonna send special ops troops to Libya to fight ISIS. Hmmm. Just think. Qadaffy was minding his own business and had renounced terrorism and had given up his quest for WMDs. Libya was stable. He was bothering no one. Then Prez Hussein and Crooked Cankles joined the EUropeans in overthrowing him and what do we have now? We lost an American ambassador and four other Americans in Benghazi. ISIS has a major base in Libya thanks to the foreign policy of Obungler and Thunder Rodent Thighs. I thought Obongo’s policy was don’t do stupid stuff. Libya sounds pretty stupid to me. So now let’s elect one of the architects of the Libya fiasco to be CinC. Yeah. Makes perfect sense if you’re a Dimocrat or a member of the GOPe. Why do you booger eatin’ moh-rons hate America so much?

The Europeans also share a lot of the blame, they thought this would protect their source of Libyan oil.
But the US is supposed to lead, not lead from behind. We could have refused to give them air support and let them do all of the heavy lifting themselves.

Reading your last sentence, I wonder if the answer is that they don’t truly hate their Country, but rather that they just don’t care.
Try this approach. Some politicians have massive egos (usually the ones that have nothing else ). So they want to be at the top, and they will walk over anyone and everyone who gets in their way; they will cross and double-cross if it gets them to a higher rung; heck, they would probably sell their grand-mother if there was a vote to be had. The nation might crumble at their feet, but all they want is to be top of the tree. (And if it does crumble, that must be some other person’s fault).
How do we get the self-centred politician? Well, there have been examples around for millennia, but there seem to be a flood of them now. Brought up in a systemised way, outside a family. An ersatz minder at Playschool; then at primary school; a neutered teacher at senior school. Might know a lot about nothing, but knows little about a true community.
Contrast that with the public minded politician whose attitude is to faithfully serve, to be considerate, and a little humble. If he or she is voted out, they go and do something useful, elsewhere. They have skills that are ‘portable’. A rare breed (I think I saw one once, at the Museum)

The enviros would be absolutely unhinged if the saw the section about how they sold out the environment big time for money for their foundation scam.
The movie runs about an hour. If this was the republican running for office this movie would be running on a loop on HBO, etc.
Putting Libya into free fall also has allowed it to become a gathering point of embarkation for millions of Africans heading to Europe. Don’t think for a second that ISIS isn’t mixing in with them.
