I got to see Johnny Winter And when they toured before this album came out. Elliott Randall and Randall’s Island opened the show and stole it getting several encores. Then Johnny Winter And played. Johnny’s amp blew up and Rick Derringer had to play alone until the amp problem was taken care of. Finally, the headliner, John Mayall played. This was the Harvey Mandel on guitar, Larry Taylor on bass, Sugercane Harris on violin lineup along with John Mayall. When John Mayall’s band was done, all three bands came up on stage and played together. This was back in 1970 at Hec Edmundson Pavillion, or Hec Ed, at the U.W. And it was only $3.50 for three great bands. The good old days! Concerts and music just isn’t quite the same anymore.
Don`t forget his brother Edgar , a headliner in his own right but when they got together they tore the place up…..certainly hard driving rock not like the mindless drival played today by so called artists.

I remember all of those $5 concerts in the 70’s.
With the great Bobby Caldwell on drums, who later played with Captain Beyond, which was also a great band. Good choice Denny.
Terrific album. I still have mine. I was 14 in 1971 when I got it for Xmas.
Derringer could really play…Johnny too.
Got it on my ipod
