Living In Atlas Shrugged

I’ve been saying for years that we have been living in Atlas Shrugged. I reread it about six years ago just to make sure I was right.

Every thing in the above is happening today. All three Clintons should be in jail. Crooked Cankles should never get anywhere near the Oval Office but may win the election. All of her “accomplishments” have been failures. Obungler got elected due to the color of his skin. The past eight years have been a disaster for the country. We are seeing crony capitalism like the Solyndra fiasco. The IRS has been corrupt and run by Dimocrats ever since the Clinton administration. Same with the State Department and the EPA. Now, the FBI has been totally corrupted. Thunder Rodent Thighs should have been indicted, but the fix was in and she skated. The Clinton Family Foundation is an illegal slush fund masquerading as a charity. They do all of this stuff right out in the open and they don’t care because the FBI won’t do anything and the media is nothing more than the propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party and is covering for the Dimocrat Party which is nothing more than a crime syndicate masquerading as a political party. Pick up a copy of Atlas Shrugged and read it and you will recognize today’s US.

We’re doomed!

    • Because I think we are doomed, especially if Crooked Cankles gets elected. I’m not sure if Trump can stop the slide because there are way too many cuckservatives who are in league with the Dimocrats. Exhibit A: The Bush family. Exhibit B: Johnny Maverick McRINO. Exhibit C: Mittens Romneycare. Exhibit D: John Kasich. Exhibit E: Paul Ryan. Need I go on?

      • Oh Trump can’t. It would be nice if he could of course, but he can’t. The rot has set in WAY too deep.

The only plus for you is that he’ll *probably* delay the collapse for awhile and maybe you won’t live to see it.

        Me, on the other hand…

        • I will probably alive to witness the collapse. It will not be pretty. I honestly see Hillary stealing this election. It’s what their good at, the Democrats. They have it down to a fine art at this point. Exhibit A; Chicago were the dead vote often and early.

  1. Denny:
I don’t disagree with your view on Atlas Shrugged, I just think that Orwell was closer.

I first read 1984 in the mid ‘50s. I re-read it about 5 years ago. George Orwell is the most prescient person that I have ever come across.

He foretold Brainwashing (stressing someone into compliance) as Winston was taught to love Big Brother. He said, “Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.”

He foretold politically correct speech: He called it Newspeak. He said, “Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.”

He foretold the corruption of history in which what happened in the past was what Big Brother said happened. He said “He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.” In 1984 he was more efficient. He did it by daily destroying every document created. We do it with lies and propaganda about the past. Orwell said,” The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.”

He foretold the corruption of language by redefining words. We redefine marriage, we redefine a baby in the womb, we redefine racism (only a white man can be racist) we redefine eminent domain, we redefine illegal aliens, we redefine taxes, etc. He said, “But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.”

He spoke of Doublethink: “…the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” And we have examples of Doublethink such as, our economic recovery will succeed because Consumption is Production. There is not one example of government spending producing more income (tax revenue) than it cost.

Orwell said, “The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one’s real and one’s declared aims, one turns, as it were, instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish squirting out ink.” President Obama tells the American people that if they like their healthcare plan that they can keep it. I could go on but you get the idea. Orwell’s big mistake was in the title. He reversed the last two digits of the year in which he wrote it, 1948. Had he titled the book 2084 he would have been right on the money.

  2. Those of us old enough to remember Nikita Khrushchev laughed when he said ” History was on their side & that they would bury us”. Another quote in a number of forms was “We will never have to invade America, we will destroy you from within”! He compared us to be like rotting fruit.
Perhaps we should elevate him to the status of Nostradamus without any vague Quatrains subject to argumentative interpretation as his statements were precise.
Inbred….I think you posted “Its all Bush`s fault” but as events have developed both Bush`s are RINO`S who share some of the responsibility for the problems we now face.
It would be nice to come back sometime in the future to read what is written about the failed American Republic & what replaced us…..assuming there are people still here & still write.
I am still voting for Trump…Hope springs eternal or out of desperation, tak eyour choice.

    • Hey, dud, I was bein’ a bit sarcastic. I think most of us regulars here feel as Denny does, that we ain’t been half as hard on the current CinC as the Lefties were on GWB. Sure wish the W had realized he held a pen with which to veto some legislation, and put it down instead of signin’ MedD. Then again, I ain’t one of those who look back with rose colored glasses and worship Saint Ronnie. Hell, I’d be okay with Denny as Dictator and Ron as his Enforcer-in-chief.

  3. Not only Atlas Shrugged, but the movie Idiocrasy and the cartoon Wall-E all wrapped up in one. Amazing how Hollywood writers could see the writing on the wall before a large portion of the American public saw what was happening.

  4. None of us may have been here for the founding of this great nation but I’m thinking most of us will be here to see it fail. . . Time to brush up on your Spanish and Chinese.

  5. I’ve got an out. I’m signing on to the first manned (oop’s not PC) mission to colonize Mars. I wonder if they have the Internet there yet?

      • Do you fart a lot, NHT?

I do so consider your tolerance of being exposed to a cabin atmosphere of Hydrogen sulfide, Methyl mercaptan, dimethyl Sulfide and dimethyl Trisulfide in huge quantities.

    • I’m sorry to break this to you, TJ, but Obama has been there first.

Now you know why they call it the “red planet”. Because of the Commies.

By the way, the man that outed Obama’s Martian adventures is running for president. Andy2020.net! If I were a 3rd-party guy, I’d vote for him, but I’m gonna stick with the Trumpster. For all Trump’s flaws, he pisses off the right people. And that’s what really counts.

  6. Gonna vote for Trump. My way of giving all the liberals in this blue state the big middle finger. Hillary will win Illinois, but what the hell. It gives me satisfaction.
