OPEC just announced that it will cut production to raise oil prices. Good luck dudes. Frack baby frack! As oil prices rise, fracking becomes more economically feasible. They have already brought the cost of fracking down so look for US oil production to increase. That will keep the price of oil down. I wonder how long it will take for OPEC nations to start cheating? You know it will happen. OPEC no longer has anywhere near the power it does. Eat sand sheetheads!
In other news, the Dims reelected ex-Speaker Blinky to lead the Dims in the House. She has been such a success. This is great news for Republicans.
If Piglosi gets one more face lift her asshole will be on her chin….just sayin’
Uh, what do you think she talks out of now?????
I KNEW that was coming! ;o)
Sorta-related… I read something recently about how one the biggest (think it was THE biggest, but not sure) US oil companies was in serious trouble from infrastructure decline issues. It’s probably actually true, at least partly. Because the infrastructure for traditional drilling is expensive both to build and maintain, and much of it is old so it probably needs extra maintenance and is much more expensive to replace. Their conclusion (peak oil horsepucky) was utter nonsense, because of the way fracking has so greatly enhanced the recoverable supply. Fracking isn’t free either, but it’s newer equipment and newer technologies so in some ways by definition it simply has to have less infrastructure problems.
But that could help balance the prices out a bit, if the dinosaur companies can’t keep up production and/or even outright go out of business. Which could lead to lesser OPEC cheating than we’ve seen in other circumstances. Sorta unfortunate… but as much as I’d like to get back to $1.30 or $0.96 gas (I’m too young to have ever paid less), it probably won’t happen. So as long as it stays around $2 or so I guess that’s a HUGE improvement over the $4 we were at in the not-nearly-enough-distant recent past.
Hey Denny;
All I can say for OPEC…Good, those vultures have been feasting off the west and using their petro dollars to export global Jihadism. And as far as the democrats…..what was the definition of insanity?…..yep and doubling down on it.
I wouldn’t bang “Blinky” with A/D’s dick.
Back in the early 60s, I helped string a lot of transite pipe going from water wells to existing oil wells in the eastern Montana oil fields then known as Pine Unit and Cabin Creek southeast of Glendive and through to Baker, Montana. Back then it was called “water flooding”. Now, as I understand, that is fracking, only on a more modern and sophisticated basis and methodology than back then. Fracking does no more to the environment, or anything else, than does a very minor earth quake or tremor.
tTese environmental wackos need to get off their high horses and look at actual facts. But, then, actual facts always get in the way of liberal rants, don’t they.
No, water flooding is not fracking, it is a way to drive oil from an existing oil field that has little or no remaining energy but lots of oil and is very common. The case can be made that the earthquakes recently observed in OK are the result of water flooding not fracking. Fracking consists of pumping fluids at high pressure and high rates into the rock and cause it to break up, this provides better flow paths to the well bore. Note, likely fracking was initially observed in the 1880’s in the Bradford oil field in Bradford, Pa, during an early waterflood. It was however not explained until about 1948, in OK, by two researchers from the old Amoco oil company, now a part of BP, from Tulsa.
I stand corrected. But, I have not been involved in any oil field work (was a truck pusher for a Wyoming-based oil field trucking company in the 70s) since about 1982.
Kudos to the mention of Bradford Pa as my Grandfather & his brothers were born in Custer City on the edge of Bradford, they were among the founders/owners of Bradford Oil Company one of many small oil companies which evolved/ merged into the giants of today.
I believe the house they were born in survives to this day but no commemorative plaque marks it….apparently they never became famous. ….Sigh!
The snowflake Dims prolly were just awarding her the coveted Buttercup Loser Participation Award.
Iran is cheering the decision. They are not reducing their output so their $ for jihad will increase.
Interesting, did not know that. Makes sense however. Iran and Saudi Arabia have been at odds with each other for some time now. For what it’s worth gas prices have gone up here in Illinois to above $2 a gallon.
I’ve heard that Blinky has lost some 60+ seats during her tenure. She’s only there because of her fundraising abilities…and I’m sure we know how that worked with Hillary who outspent Trump by tens of millions.
Except for military weapons, there is nothing anyone wants from Russia, and the Arab countries have even less to off other than oil. They both know their oil supply is finite and after that it’s Katie bar the door. Along with China that has very little oil of its own, I see them all trying to expand their boarders into the foreseeable. As for the USA, we need to really put the squeeze on these countries financially so that they collapse under their own weight.
