The way black Dimocrats are boycotting the Trump inauguration you would think they were handing out job applications.
Maybe that isn’t a joke. Still recovering. Normal posting will resume shortly. Today was unpacking and laundry. Tomorrow is store and other errands.
Made it.
Mount Vernon Illinois
Survived the storm! It didn’t start raining until about an hour before I got up. The roads were a little slick, but as soon as I got to Missouri they were OK. All I had to contend with was rain, and that was most of the trip. Since it was raining, I didn’t stop to pick up any gooey butter cakes. Bummer! Home tomorrow.
Abilene Kansas
So here I am in Kansas trying to slip between storms. Couldn’t sleep last night so I got up early to get an early start. Good thing I did ’cause it started snowing right as I left Snowmass. Snowed all the way to Glenwoood Springs so it took a lot longer to get that far than usual. It was snowing on I-70 as well and the road was a little slick. Wasn’t all that much fun driving through Glenwood Canyon in the dark on a slick road with snow coming down hard. By the time I got to Vail, the snow had stopped but I kept hearing news about an ice storm hitting the area I was driving to. Great! Vail Pass was clear and so was the Eisenhower Tunnel. There sure were a lot of people going skiing. The traffic on the east side of the tunnel was backed up for miles and miles and miles with people heading for the slopes.
I kept hearing on the radio about the ice storm approaching Kansas, but the weather was great after I cleared the mountains. I made great time. I usually stop at Hays Kansas, but when I got there it was only 2:00 PM so I decided to push on a little further. Got to Abilene around 3:30 and decided to call it a day. Meanwhile, I heard the storm had slowed. Of course, I’m behind the storm that hit Kansas City and caused the postponement of the football game between the Chiefs and the Steelers.
What I’m hoping is that the storm behind me is delayed enough for me to get through the rest of Kansas (less than 200 miles) and across Missouri without too much trouble. Kansas City is supposed to be cleaned up by tomorrow from the storm that hit it. I’d like to stop and get some gooey butter cakes in Missouri and make it to Mount Vernon Illinois by tomorrow night.
A double feature from Randy. (more…)
Nope. It’s not some dumb Hollywood actress or a racist Dim Congresscritter who keeps hanging a painting in the capitol depicting cops as pigs. It’s not even Obungler who dislocated his arm patting himself on the back during his farewell address. It’s our old buddy Johnny McRINO who turns out to be the source for the bogus Trump golden shower report. What a despicable, bitter old man he has turned out to be. He’s also an asshole.
Last day and it went well. Fewer falls, better skiing. Skied all morning. Could have done some in the afternoon but didn’t want to tempt fate. I’ve donated my old rig to Challenge Aspen since I can’t ski on it anymore. No more lugging it around. I’m all packed and ready to load up the car tomorrow and hit the road.
Mucho better day today. The winds died. The skiing was better! Tom determined my bucket (the part I sit in) on my rig was shot. Rather than addressing that, he just put me in a different rig. Made all the difference. All of a sudden I was balanced out again. This is he kind of rig I should have bought when I bought mine. It would have been more expensive, but it has some neat features like hip adjustment without padding. I was able to ski the steep blues again. Alas, 70 years old has hit me like a ton of bricks. I tire easily. I’ve only skied mornings. Of course having to push my chair around on snow doesn’t help. I miss having my BIL pushing me around.
I see C(F)NN (Clinton Fake News Network) has further tarnished its reputation by falling for the bogus Trump golden shower story. These people are amazing!
