Please! Make it stop! I can’t take it anymore.
I live in Georgia’s sixth congressional district. That’s Tom Price’s district. Since he’s now Secretary of HHS there is a special election to fill his seat. Eleven Republicans are running. Four Dimocrats are running. Two independents are running. For the last four weeks it has been nonstop robocalls, not just from the candidates, but from the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee and various PACs telling us that Dimocrat Jon Ossoff is Pelosi’s puppet, which he is.
Ossoff has raised over $8 million., almost all of it coming from out of state. The Dimocrats are making this a national race and a referendum on Trump. But, if you listen to Ossoff’s ads, you would swear that he was a Republican. He wants to cut out “waste and mismanagement” and “spend tax dollars wisely”. There is no mention of Trump in any of his ads.
The sixth district is solidly Republican and has elected Price by double digits the last few times he has run, but Trump only carried it by two points. The Dims think if they throw enough money at it (and Ossoff prolly has more money than the other sixteen candidates combined) they might be able to eke out a win. If no candidate gets over 50% of the vote tomorrow there will be a runoff between the top two candidates no matter the party. The chances of Ossoff getting 50% tomorrow are very low since he’s polling in the low 40’s. The runoff will prolly be between Ossoff and Karen Handel, the leading Republican, who will prolly win the runoff. But, that means another six weeks of robocalls but at least it will only be for two candidates this time.
But still, make it stop!
We had the same crap here in Kansas since Pompeo got tapped for the CIA.
Love election season with all the signs I used to see in the yards and open lots around Aurora where I used to live. And still some of that nonsense here in Crystal Lake. But no robocalls, thank God for that. I get enough of those even without an election being held.
Here is is how it works in Kommifornia. Elected Dem upholds promise not to raise taxes, votes against huge increase, stripped of power in Assembly. Repub splits from Party line and votes for $900 million tax increase, is rewarded with huge pork barrel projects in his district.

I assume Jon’s nickname is “Jack.” All the Dems would donate tons of money to a candidate named Jack Ossoff. Say it quickly. In other words, the donors are getting what they paid for
The real voting problem is the Asshats who believe the Bullshit Candidates say & never check their actual record or go to CNN,ABC ,CBS or NBC to find what they think is truth.
As for Robo calls ….almost all of them come from call centers outside of the voting district. If I get a call on any of my phones & do not recognize the area code,I delete or cancel.
Live calls are another matter….I just received a phone call several days ago & when I answered a woman said she would like to speak to Marian to answer questions Marian had asked & needed a response……..
Problem #1…. Marian was indeed my Mothers name but she had never lived at my house.
Problem #2… She certainly did not ever know or use my current phone number
Problem #3…..Mom left this Earth 28 years ago so asking for answers to questions was not likely
Problem #4 ….I quickly ascertained the caller was a Jehovah`s Witness so……… I told her Mom had moved to a permanent home which as of yet had no direct phone service so I suggested she make a personal visit to answer Mom`s questions & gave her the address of the Cemetery Mom was buried in & used the plot number as her retirement suite number.
Sure hope they had a great talk !
WRT robo calls, nomorobo.com works on many phone services, but not all. When installed, you hear one ring from the robo call and it’s transferred to a message or something…
Hahahahaha, Cemetery address and plot number. I LOVE IT!!
When Congress wrote the “Do Not Call” list legislation they exempted politicians, charities and anyone you had ever done business with before, which includes their subsidiaries.
Denny, do what I do: don’t answer the phone. Don’t recognize the number? Let it roll into voice mail. Let the robots converse. Hell, I turned off the ringer three weeks ago. Know how many have left messages after I get ten calls a day? One.
That’s what I do. It goes right into my answering machine. It’s still a pain in the ass.
