That’s how many times the lowlife who set the fire that took out the I-85 bridge has been arrested since 1995. Why was this scumbag even walking the streets? He should have been spending the rest of his life in prison. Nineteen times.
Someone even tried to help him once. A dude in Woodstock Georgia took him home and gave him a job. He let him stay with him. That worked for a while but then the scumbag stole a neighbor kid’s bicycle and rode it to Atlanta and went on a crack binge. Then, a few days later, he rode the bike back home and returned it to the kid. The good Samaritan kicked him out of his house and he was homeless again. This is an example of someone who is totally unable to take care of himself and belonged in an institution, not on the streets.
I read in the paper that 30% of the homeless in Atlanta are mentally ill. We used to keep people like that in institutions but no more. You know why we don’t? Liberals. Back in the late 70’s or early 80’s the liberals said it wasn’t right to institutionalize mentally ill people who couldn’t take care of themselves and these people were dumped out on the streets. That’s where we get people like Basil Eleby, the dude who set the fire that has fouled up Atlanta traffic.
Anyone who is thirty-nine years old and has been arrested nineteen times does not belong on the streets. He belongs in jail or an institution. He is not an outlier. Look at a lot of stories that we have heard over the past free years. How many times was St. Freddie of heroin arrested? He was a career drug dealer. Why was he still out on the streets of Baltimore? We keep hearing about career criminals with countless arrests and many years in jail who get released for “good behavior” or some such bullshit commit heinous crimes. We have liberal judges who are way way too soft on criminals. People like Basil Eleby should be locked up not only for the good of society but for their own good as well. How many times are we gonna pay the price for allowing repeat offenders to roam the streets?
A bullet for $1.00 would have taken care of that POS.
This episode of releasing these anti society vermin will be repeated over & over…but in a different state or city.
Horse whip people after the first felony conviction, or third misdemeanor. Castrate them the next time. No probation EVER. Maybe no prison, depending on the seriousness of the crime, but a good thirty lashes or more with a stout leather thong, coupled with the certainty that their gonads will depart forever if they screw up again might influence them to rethink their misspent lives. If the crimes are moderately serious, emasculate them.
Right now a rap sheet is good street cred in dahood. Wimin loves them some badass dudes. Have fun there girls, those bad asses won’t have any thing to get up. After the third and final felony, teach them to air walk. They can be swingers for the rest of their life.
We had to quit institutionalizing the mentally ill when lefties realized it was themselves.
now that is not only true, but it’s hilarious too.
I agree. We have a winner.
Whoever let him out his last time should be hanged alongside him off a piece of rebar in that ruined bridge. Call it a public warning.
Closing the institutions was intended to save money overall (in heating, construction/repair and so on). Those patients who were most-in-need wound up in smaller group homes, which collectively wound up costing more to maintain. Nobody really won.
Problem here is in who gets treated and who gets hanged. The latter will surely save money faster than the former.
It takes a village.
It takes a village idiot.
What are the odds he didn’t have a father?
Thank-you, LBJ.
I would only add that that 30% figure is really low. I know police who deal with the homeless everyday say that a full 90% have mental, drug, or alcohol problem…or combinations thereof. The other 10% are a ruse. I’ve seen them beg after looking up from their smart phone. I’ve seen them take shelter in the sheltered alcove with their laptop shining bright. I’ve seen them delivered to their place of begging in the morning (not too early, mind you) by a taxi. I’ve seen a woman who appeared to be 8 months pregnant begging on the same street corner from early spring to late fall.
Bang on, Denny. Some asylums back in the day were abusive and needed reform, but turning nuts out on the streets was stupid and cruel. Run properly mental hospitals are an agent of mercy.
Denny,
Here’s a link to the case that set this whole mess in motion.
https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/422/563/case.html
The left is fond of saying that President Reagan started this by letting them out, but the whole mess traces back to this case.
Why it hasn’t been reviewed and overturned only adds to the insanity.
The Atlanta Police should put this guy on a one way bus to Hollywood.
I read this today and thought of your post – https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/04/13/president-trump-thanks-responding-units-from-i-85-collapse-in-georgia/#more-131292
