Tremolo is not very easy to play. God knows I’ve tried. When Chet was learning guitar he played different from most pickers. Most country/bluegrass guitar finger pickers just used the thumb and first two fingers. Chet added the ring finger (which classical guitarists use) ’cause that was the only way he could duplicate the sound he heard on the radio. The same thing happened to me when I was learning guitar. That’s the way I thought folk guitarists played. That helped me when I learned some of the Bach pieces I play. Of course, Chet’s good. I suck. Back in my 20’s I was actually pretty good. My guitar playing got me laid a few times. But I practiced at least two hours a day back then. Now, if I play thirty minutes a day it’s unusual. I’ve forgotten a lot of songs I used to play and sing. I wish I could play and sing (even with my rotten voice) for Claudia like I could back then. I could go for three hours without repeating a song. One of my friends was astounded by my memory. I told him it was poetry. That’s easy to remember. Think of Homer.

I was gonna give it to Schmucky Schumer and the Dimocrats for their childish display of partisanship over Gorsuch, but they were trumped by Crooked Cankles who has reappeared and claimed that one of the reasons she lost was misogyny. Quite ironic when you consider that she is married to a misogynist whom she enabled and defended during their entire marriage. She also was involved in destroying the victims of his sexual depredations. So maybe she is correct. Misogyny did do her in and karma caught up with her. Ain’t it grand? But she does get another AOTW Award.

Back in 1992, Smokin’ Joe Biden was head of the Senate Judiciary Committee and he came up with the Biden Rule. What was that pray tell? That was the rule that a president shouldn’t be allowed to appoint a Supreme Court justice during a presidential election year. So, much to the dismay of the Dimocrats, last year, the Republicans decided that was a good policy and refused to consider Obungler’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Merrick Garland. Ever since the Dimocrats have been crying foul and talking about a “stolen” Supreme Court seat. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! It was your policy assholes! Of course, the Dimocrats count on the electorate having a short memory and for their propaganda arm. the Fake News Media not bringing it up.

And now, horrors, Bitch McConnell actually had the balls to implement Horrible Harry Reid’s nuclear option. McConnell told Reid that the Dimocrats would regret nuking the filibuster for judicial nominees, but Horrible Harry told him to piss off since the Dimocrats would always retain control of the Senate and the presidency because of demographics. What could go wrong? Trump and Republican control of the Senate. Now, Chuck the schmuck Schumer (someone ruined a perfect prick when they put ears on his head) regrets the Reid Rule. Oh woe is me. Horrible Harry was wrong. Granted, the Reid Rule did not count for Supreme Court nominees, but it did set the precedent and Bitch had the balls to go nuclear. Now Schmucky and the Dims are squealing like stuck pigs once again. It looks like Gorsuch will get confirmed.

Now for you Never Trumpers. You wanted Crooked Cankles to win. Had she won, she would have prolly appointed someone far worse than Merrick Garland. Bitch and the Stupid Party took a big chance by opposing his nomination. It paid off no thanks to you assholes. And now with all of the revelations of spying by the Obumbler administration, Thunder Rodent Thighs would have cranked up those abuses even higher. That’s how many times the lowlife who set the fire that took out the I-85 bridge has been arrested since 1995. Why was this scumbag even walking the streets? He should have been spending the rest of his life in prison. Nineteen times.

Someone even tried to help him once. A dude in Woodstock Georgia took him home and gave him a job. He let him stay with him. That worked for a while but then the scumbag stole a neighbor kid’s bicycle and rode it to Atlanta and went on a crack binge. Then, a few days later, he rode the bike back home and returned it to the kid. The good Samaritan kicked him out of his house and he was homeless again. This is an example of someone who is totally unable to take care of himself and belonged in an institution, not on the streets.

I read in the paper that 30% of the homeless in Atlanta are mentally ill. We used to keep people like that in institutions but no more. You know why we don’t? Liberals. Back in the late 70’s or early 80’s the liberals said it wasn’t right to institutionalize mentally ill people who couldn’t take care of themselves and these people were dumped out on the streets. That’s where we get people like Basil Eleby, the dude who set the fire that has fouled up Atlanta traffic.

Anyone who is thirty-nine years old and has been arrested nineteen times does not belong on the streets. He belongs in jail or an institution. He is not an outlier. Look at a lot of stories that we have heard over the past free years. How many times was St. Freddie of heroin arrested? He was a career drug dealer. Why was he still out on the streets of Baltimore? We keep hearing about career criminals with countless arrests and many years in jail who get released for “good behavior” or some such bullshit commit heinous crimes. We have liberal judges who are way way too soft on criminals. People like Basil Eleby should be locked up not only for the good of society but for their own good as well. How many times are we gonna pay the price for allowing repeat offenders to roam the streets?

Very disappointing. Shameful, actually. Total gridlock. Unrelenting spite. Childish payback for Merrick, whom Republicans refused to even schedule hearings on because his name was placed in nomination by a lame-duck president in an election year.

In fact, here’s what Joe Biden said about that very thing when it was discussed in the late stages of the Bush I administration: “It is my view that if the president goes the way of Presidents Fillmore and Johnson and presses an election year nomination, the Senate Judiciary Committee should seriously consider not scheduling confirmation hearings on the nomination until after the political campaign season is over,” when he was Senate Judiciary Chairman in 1992.

I’m not a Constitutional scholar, but I don’t believe the 60-vote threshold is chiseled in granite for Senate confirmation of PotUS nominees. It’s more of a tradition than a hard-and-fast rule. In fact, Judge Thomas was confirmed with a 52-48 vote:

The whole idea of filibuster and 60-vote cloture to end it is no more than a common-sense tool to get people to be reasonable and stop looking for the perfect candidate who will satisfy their political base. NOBODY will be entirely acceptable to some senators, but Gorsuch comes very damned close, having been confirmed to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals UNANIMOUSLY.

Basically a filibuster is a delay tactic which allows the party in minority to brow-beat the majority. It’s essentially a wearing-down tactic to get the opposition to throw in the towel so that the body can move on to other important business, hoping that the next nominee will be more palatable. In essence, it can be used as extortion by the minority to dictate to the majority. At its core it’s anti-democratic (small d).

But the bottom-line point here is that DJT was elected primarily because voters were fed up with the constant gridlock and wanted someone who could get things done withOUT having to compromise everything into some kind of what-IS-this-shit! stew that NObody wants.

Gorsuch is simply a Scalia-like replacement for Scalia. There was nothing wrong with Merrick, actually, except that he tended to be slightly left of center and very much NOT Scalia-like. The problem was that Gropey Joe had already gone on record as saying that lame duck PotUSes shouldn’t be making SCotUS nominations.

Schumer doesn’t want to hear that, apparently. Otherwise, why the spiteful tilting at windmills to stop Trump’s nominee? It’s nothing but childish grade-school payback for McConnell’s preventing Merrick’s nomination coming to a vote.

Childish. Spiteful. Obstructionist. Petty. Lame. Hateful. Vindictive. Petulant. Bitter. And absolutely no way to run a legislature; in fact, precisely what the voters hired Sheriff DJT to get rid of as part of his swamp-draining game plan.

This infantile tantrum he’s throwing smacks of Dirty Harry Reid, and I thought we were rid of that black hole of progress. I can only imagine how much better off this country would be today if Bush I had been re-elected in ’92 and been followed by Jack Kemp in ’96 and maybe Joe Lieberman in ’04 then Romney or Gingrich in ’12.
