Denny,
I just got home from seeing Cheap Trick at the local fairgrounds in Fresno, CA.
It’s Sat. night and they played awesome for guys in their late 60’s.
They were a hot R&R band when I was in my 20’s. Played their hits too and Rick Nielson could still tear up the guitar as good as ever.
I think it was him that American Pickers picked one time. Great episode. He wasn’t as “weird” as I always thought him to be just a little on the eccentric side. And he showed them some pretty cool guitars he had if I remember correctly.
He did and most were the trademark black and white checkered paint. One he played was perfectly square, probably 2′ by 2′ with two necks on it and it looked awesome. What a great guitar player he still is.

Saw Cheap Trick once back in the 80’s. Great band. Did Nielson still have all of his weird guitars?

One of the guitars he played when I saw him had about 6 necks.
