Greg Allman just died. In memory, here’s one of my favorite Allman Brothers Band song. Saw them once at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis in either 1970 or 1971.

  1. Thanks for this. Been wallowing over this since the wife told me about his passing. Another chunk of what was a great band gone. Damn, Idlewild South and Eat a Peach will live forever.

  2. Thanks Denny … my wife and I made a trip to the “Big House” in Macon back in May of 2014.

The ABB (and Gregg Allman) have been a major part of the “soundtrack” of my life from the first time I heard them as a wee lad in Mobile, AL back in 1970ish …

The wee lad is quite a bit older and grader now … and feeling much more “so”today.

    RIP Gregg.

  3. After 46 years, Gregg and Duane are finally reunited. I’m sure they’re already jamming with Jimi and SRV up there. At Fillmore East is one of the greatest live recordings in the history of rock.

  4. Sad, hard end to a rotten week at work to find out about this. I discovered him and his music later in life. But love it a great deal and it helped me through many a bad day at work. It just makes me very sad and feeling very old right now. Rest in Peace Trail Blazer, you will be missed. I have been told there will be a last Album released in September of this year. If true, I will definitively be buying it.
